Looks like someone picked up a rather large position. We'll see if it holds.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

so stock.exchange still disable deposit and withdraw? whats wrong?? Stocks.Exchange temporarily disabled deposits and withdrawals. I had anticipated that it would be up by now, however I was mistaken and they need some additional time. They're just confirming that everything is working correctly on their end.

So SWIFT completed its Proof of Concept blockchain testing for interbank settlement. https://www.ft.com/content/966f5694-22c6-11e8-ae48-60d3531b7d11'While Swift said the test “went extremely well” it concluded that “further progress is needed” on the blockchain — or distributed ledger technology (DLT) — “before it will be ready to support production-grade applications in large-scale, mission-critical global infrastructures”. “Although the proof of concept demonstrated DLT could improve Nostro liquidity management and reconciliation processes, it also revealed that the prerequisites will have to be met before banks can enjoy the full benefits of switching to a DLT process,” said Damien Vanderveken, head of research and development at Swift. Mr Vanderveken told the Financial Times that the test had showed there would be significant “operational challenges” to using blockchain technology for all of its 11,000 members. This is not least because the 28 banks that ran tests on the system required the creation of 528 sub-ledgers to avoid confidential information being seen by rival banks. To roll it out to all of Swift’s members, Mr Vanderveken estimated it would require 100,000 sub-ledgers to be created, making them extremely unwieldy to maintain, upgrade or configure.' Jeeeeez. Ummmmmm..... so they haven't heard of obfuscated blockchains, then? Seems like Dero could solve this problem quite easily

Xmr-stak is notoriously tricky to optimize. It's not the best choice of miner if you are new to this, and if you have to follow a guide to the letter then I'm going to assume you are, indeed, new to this. However, you already have it and trying to explain anything else would be too painful so here's the quick-n-dirty way to get xmr-stak working, if not optimized. Also note that I am assuming - from context - that you only want to use an Nvidia GPU, and not both the GPU and CPU (optimizing the cpu.txt file is even more difficult, so let's not for now). 1. Delete nvidia.txt. 2. Run cmd.exe as Administrator - note that you must always run xmr-stak as Administrator - and change to the directory where you have xmr-stak. If you put the folder on the desktop then the command you'll enter will look something like: cd c:\users\<username>\desktop\<xmr-stak folder name>; where <username> is the name you use to log-in to your computer and the other should be self-explanatory. 3. Have your dero address and the url:port of the pool you want to connect to handy; you could just open the existing config.txt file and pull it from there, since both those values should be stored there already. 4. Run this command next: xmr-stak --noCPU --noAMD 5. You will be asked a bunch of questions which I don't remember all of because I haven't had to do this in awhile, but essentially you want to choose 'monero' as the currency, enter your DERO address and url:port, don't use Nicehash, don't use SSL. 6. That should do it for now, but to make this process easier you'll want to create a batch file that has content similar to the following: @echo off cd\users\jsj\desktop\mining\xmr-stak xmr-stak -c config-dero1.txt --noCPU --noAMD pause
Note that I have different config files for each pool/currency, and select which one using the -c switch followed by the config file name.

Hello everyone,
Stocks.Exchange has withdrawls and deposits enabled again, however, we would like to ask everyone to please not withdraw from Stocks.Exchange for a little while. Your Dero will not go missing but payments are getting stuck in Stock.Exchange's system.
When I have an update I will let everyone know. I'm testing their system with my own Dero periodically and should have an update soon.

At the moment, dero-wallet-cli is the only official wallet. There is however, a user generated fork from another project that you're welcome to use for now. It's had positive reviews and the individual who maintains it is a respected community member that is around frequently. To date there have been no reported issues with the community GUI wallet. https://github.com/drigler/DeroGUIWallet

Yes, withdrawal a lot of coins prior to seeing this message. The withdrawals are stated as working but just come-up saying 'finished' and with a TX ID but don't actually show in my wallet or the block chain explorer, example below transaction given: http://dero.live:8080/search?value=9438a2a4606b7246b15de184c78a516c48dd1972796b9cb9c00643457831bedbOpened another ticket, hope coins are not lost...

So far all of the Dero have been restored as they were not lost, it's just an internal error on Stocks.Exchange's end. If you do have a serious issue, please let me know and I will assist you in following up with SE.

I think at this point we need a full RCA from the devs as to why forks are happening constantly. I’d like to know the technical reason behind these issues. Then maybe I, or another community member could help fix it. Is there going to be a GUI wallet also or only Daemon first running and then wallet.cli?

The fork issue has been resolved for 3 days. If you're still having errors, please send me a message and I will help you resolve it. The GUI wallet is scheduled for Q2 after the network transitions to the golang implementation in 3 weeks. For now, the network is running on the old CryptoNote protocol written in C++. The code needed to be completed before it was possible to build a GUI wallet. Without the code there would have been zero functionality, just a GUI.

Hi, I just reported you for copy-n-pasting someone else's post: I think at this point we need a full RCA from the devs as to why forks are happening constantly. I’d like to know the technical reason behind these issues. I’m going to keep supporting this coin, but some transparency here would go a long way. Then maybe I, or another community member could help fix it.
Enjoy your upcoming ban!
