I am using ypool's jhprimeminer (new but now the newest version) to benchmark because it tells you not only 5-chains/h but also 6, 7, 8, 9 chains/h rates. It seems that 5-chains/h scales linearly with CPU speed (core numbers) but longer chains benefit from faster machines more. It would be helpful if hp11 has statistics of higher chain rates (up to 10, I hope) in the log file.

Well ... if you have a fast CPU ypool is actually not the best ... My 8 core Opteron finds a block every two to three days (~20->30 XPM), where as on ypool I only got 4 to 5 XPM in the same period. Started solo and getting way more XPM's

its all about luck my celeron found 2 block in 2 days, i5 none I highly agree. Since switching to -hp10 I've found 9 blocks between 5 computers... both Core2Quads and both i5's have found at least 1... my i7 has struck out.

I kind of doubt that. It looks like Diff actually fell a tiny tiny little bit recently. And it's near the end of the month, with a GPU miner looming around the corner. I think we'll see a lot of monthly payment VPS miners getting off the train in the next day or two. Much too risky to invest in another month of payments. I bet we won't see diff 10 until GPU miner comes out.

I bet we won't see diff 10 until GPU miner comes out. I would think that almost all VPS providers would be billing each month on that users sign up date, not the start of every month. So we'd be seeing changes continuously throughout the month if this was the case. But in fact we see diff is still rising each day, if only slightly. I refuse to change my mining operation or mining plan on the whim of the possibility of a chance that there might be a GPU miner coming out. I will believe it when I see it.

FYI primecoin.org home page now has a link to the hp client download. Hope the miner icon I add is likeable I think this helps new users to find it easier. Once again let's give Mikael a big round of applause for his hard work, dedication and selfless contribution!

Sunny I like the simplicity of the home page. It does not spam you with endless info like some other cryptocoin sites and looks very clean. And yes the truck icon is amusing!
