Hi folks!
What about a new version?
V6 - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1189851/jhPrimeminer-GMP-v6.zip
Changes:
1. Initial Auto tuning related to L1 cache size. It takes about 4 min after the minder was started. For some configurations can double the seeped.
2. Keyboard shortcuts for those that likes to play with the numbers.
3. Round sieve percentage - Similar feature that was introduced in mikaelh's hp8 primecoin client. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=255782.0
Basically the parameter sets how much time is spent in the sieve and how much time is spent on checking the candidates produced by the sieve.

Enjoy.

Edit: Both the miner and the mpir.dll Compiled with AVX flag - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1189851/jhPrimeminer-GMP-v6-AVX.zip

V6 won't run for me.  Just get an error about not being able to start because msvcr110.dll is missing from my pc. The download includes the msvcr100.dll file.

Update - Found out I needed Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 3.  Installed that and the error went away.

AVX version crashes on startup for me.

Regular version is running great though. Already found a 9-chain in less than two hours so far with default settings.

i7 4770k @ 4.5

Thanks mumus!

Thanks mumus! I've got v6 working on all of my machines, from initial testing it looks like 6/7 ch are significantly higher but won't know for sure until its been running for some time. I tried AVX on Windows 7 with an i5 3570k and got the msvcr110.dll mentioned above, installed the Visual C++ package and don't see the error anymore but it force closes on startup Sad

Is it possible to run the AVX version on Ubuntu? I tried it with an i7 3820 but get the msvcr110.dll error, not sure how to fix this through WINE.

Will you upload the source to github? Maybe I have to compile it with /favor:AMD64

You just need the msvcr110.dll from the visual studio 2012 update 3 runtime.

Really, slower than v4? Maybe it's setting related?

Running both with default settings. Tried tuning settings on v4 before but never found anything significantly better than default. Performance varies much depending on number of processes/threads.

AVX not working :/, first calls out MXVCR110.dll missing, when I d/l and add it then I get "The application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b)"

Loving the regular build, after 5 hours I'm up from 370 to 523 shares per block and XPM per block went from .017729 avg to .023547 avg.

I do not suffer fools gladly... "Captain!  We're surrounded!"
I embrace my inner Kool-Aid.

In earlier version of the miner/pool the share value calculation was different. After the pool changed the share value calculation I've updated also the miner (v5+)

Hi folks!
What about a new version?
V6 - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1189851/jhPrimeminer-GMP-v6.zip

Edit: Both the miner and the mpir.dll Compiled with AVX flag - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1189851/jhPrimeminer-GMP-v6-AVX.zip
Edit2: The jhPrimeminer-GMP-v6-AVX.zip now contains the vcredist_x64.exe which is required to run the miner. It can be downloaded also from MS: http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/6/B/16B06F60-3B20-4FF2-B699-5E9B7962F9AE/VSU3/vcredist_x64.exe

Edit3: The AVX version is the same miner compiled to support the AVX instruction set from the newer CPUs. You can check if your CPU support AVX using CPUZ. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html. From my initial testing I couldn't find any significant speed difference between AVX and the regular one, probably because the code wasn't written to use it. If somebody can come out with a proof that it's worth using AVX then let us know.

Source code is now updated on https://github.com/hg5fm/jhPrimeminer/
