I think latest rde's Beta miner has some serious issues. I see shares not submitting to the pool all the time. It looks like it's working ok, but shares don't submit way too often then reasonable. Especially 7ch and 8ch. I used both Windows x64 and Windows AVX builds

I think we should go back to mumus or maybe Cabin's build.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Please, add support HTTP-proxy and time to pause between retries in jhPrimeminer for Linux

+1 Please add firewall friendly ports *80* so we can mine behind coorporate firewalls.

There's been no other reports of these types of issues.. However, it must be noted that over the last 48hours jh00 has done several reboots to apply the beginnings of a new reward system - and each of those reboots has caused all miners to disconnect..

Please do come back with more detail on your share posting issue though as there are *many* people running my builds without such issues..

Thanks! Smiley

Rde, if you could make it easy to see in the miner how many shares were found and how many were submitted of each type: 6ch, 7ch, 8 ch. This would make it clear how bad the issue is or if it's even an issue. Also it would make it possible to compare it to the other builds.

Thanks!

Why total shares are only 166, if it's clear that 6ch+7ch+8ch is what more then 166?[/li][/list]

I have seen twice that my newly found 8-chains share not showing in "share value" display on the upper right of the ypool's page. Both times the display responded to 6-chains and 7-chains like clockwork. So it was not a problem with network or pool's down time. The XPM column in the personal stat page didn't have any change more than 0.001 after the above 8-chains were found.  Not all 8-chains are missing. Often they do get counted.  (Because my 8-chain/h is less than 1, most times it is the 6-chain/7-chains that contribute to the XPM column. So once an 8-chain is found you can see the result in  the XPM column, if it gets counted.)

I am wondering what was happening. I am using one of the unofficial miners. Is it possible that the miner is secretly sending some of the more valuabe shares to another account?

More than likely what is happening (and you can verify this by keeping an eye on your miner's output) is that those shares end up invalid for some reason. Most often (for me) the cause of this is finding a share right as a block is solved, causing the share to become outdated.

I have checked if they become invalid by checking if there is a message and they were not invalid. The output info when every block is found also showed no invalid 8-chain shares.

What it looks like to me is that if you get a large chain, it doesn't register as a share, but makes subsequent shares worth more for a while

As I described I don't see any results of the 8chains in subsequent  shares or XPM payouts.

My miner is cabin's build of your beta3 miner. I think another possibility for the missing shares is that somehow the server drops more shares for the larger chains. When I observed the missing 8-chains I don't see 6-chains and 7-chains missing so it was not like the server is down. I did see blocks being found at a high rate  by ypool.
It would be useful if the peronal stat page of ypool can show how many each kind of shares are found for every block for the last 10 blocks.

I feel the same way about my unconfirmed. It took me days to get all that XPM. Someone needs to make another pool for backup.

The worst case is that someone did a 51% attack. I didnt see any warning of the site going down in chat.

    Thank you!

The stats have been confusing a lot of people with the changes being made to the pool..

The key to remember is that the block summary shows all chains found of the specified length irrespective of whether they were a valid share or not.

In your example, the last block had 2 6ch. Determined by looking at total reward for last block.
Also in your example assuming the 8ch and 7ch were all valid (36 shares), the remaining 130 shares would have to be 6ch.. Given the minimum pool difficulty is now 6.5 you'd expect about half the 6ch to be under difficulty.. Which is pretty much bang on in your example..

I see nothing obviously wrong there, purely that the stats are not as clear and concise as they could be.. I've been trying to get feedback about which stats people actually want.. From what you've described a decent per block breakdown of chains/shares is more important than lifetime chain counts.. Is this sentiment shared by all?

    Hope that helps..
