please be realistic, every investment has their own risk,  but give it a try, dont invest to much money, because it is riskier and split your money into 3 or 4 coin because they will give you another chance to get a big profit

Which is a safe coin to invest in the long term?
How long should I hold it?

Is there a risk that I might lose it all?

I am a noob in cryptocurrencies. Help.  Huh

I was thinking Litecoin, is it a good idea?

Well, for newbie, i will said that 12.000 dollars is much money to trade with because you dont have any experience yet in trading.
I think reduce the amount is suggested because there is a big chance that you can loss all of your money. Thats the worst risk.

If you have 12,000.00 USD as your capital for an investment for holding I will strongly suggest that you need to spread your investment to minimize loss. I will invest 4,000.00 each on Ethereum, Ripple, and Dash and hold them for 2 years. This is the safest way of doing a hold.

There are any coin which is safe in 100% because this is high yield investment program.
High risk high return is staying in the soul of this crypto inveatment. So be wise.
I think the best coin that we can hold is etherium. Etherium is the best one right now.

its hard if u try to invest in safe coin. no one coin safe in this crypto world, all coin have a risk. and as a trader, u also have a risk to get a big benefit, or lose all of ur investion. about litecoin, its good and i think this coin will have a good price in couple years. but, try to invest in a coin that already have a good development like ETH or Btc Cash.

I can suggest you for long term Ethereum, Monero, Dash, Stratis and Waves. These coins are good for your investment because all these coins have good market cap and Top 50 list of https://coinmarketcap.com/.

Last possibility, the Odyssey OCN is up of 250% in 3 days,

If you want double quickly your investment follow this new coin, becoz the big investors buy it;)

His price go certainly up until 2 or 3 $ in 10 or 20 days, like OMG in july and august 2017!

Dude $12000 is a lot of money and now your planing to invest in a asset you are not familiar its suicide. Even if we tell you wich coin is good for long term its still unsure that you will gain profit from it or much worse you'll end up losing your money.
Im not discouring you im just giving you an advice.

Go for NEO and Ethereum. These are the best potentials for now. Also you can add ADA and QTUM for sure.
Split your money into 5 coins including bitcoin create a portfolio and follow how they are performing.

I also do not think that a newbie should operate with such a great amount of money. Just start from 500- 1000 dollars. Pick the cryptos that are most promising, i.e. NEO, Cardano, ARK, Ethereum, Monero.

There is no safe coin for long-term prospects, but if you make the right investment, you minimize losses. Many of us would be invested in the ether, but further opinions diverge. Personally, I prefer a monero and ripple, you are a Litecoin. Therefore, you need to analyze the top10 markets in the market.

If I have that amount to invest in crypto currencies, I would spread it out over a few different coins. With that being said, I would recommend investing in Tron (TRX) and two new icos; TomoCoin and Open Platform. I think that these positions will not disappoint.

Holding for long time is not always profitable because the market for long time can decrease very deep.
However, its your choice. But i suggest you to look for the deep price before buying since it can gives us bigger chance to win.
