I strongly advise you to diversify your investments in cryptocurrency. Because you can easily lose everything

I would say you should take that much money and invest in the two biggest coins which are bitcoin and ethereum. You can never go wrong with those two coins and your money is safer with them. You can also diversify more and buy into some other altcoins with some portion of the money but make sure to do research before investing in any altcoin.

Long term? A real investment? Bitcoin!
No hate against altcoins, but to invest in those with a real significant amount of money for a long term would just crazy!
Everyone who tries to tell you the opposite, well is a gambler.
And gambling ans investing are to different things.
If you wanna speculate for a short to mid term period of time with altcoins that's fine. But know entry and exit levels. Otherwise you're gonna get burned.

I think that the best choices for long term investing are Bitcoin and Ethereum. You can add NEO and Cardano in your portfolio and may be some ICO, but I would keep over 50% in the top two coins.

I would say 60% Bitcoin, 20% ETH, and 20% of other smaller coins from the top of the list.

Which is a safe coin to invest in the long term?
How long should I hold it?

Is there a risk that I might lose it all?

I am a noob in cryptocurrencies. Help.  Huh

I was thinking Litecoin, is it a good idea?

I Might be late to advice you on this but Diversification is a key thing you should consider when investing your #12000

There is a huge amount of risk involved in crypto, its very volatile. I expect we are on the verge of a big bullrun and so most altcoins will pump, but for now I'd invest in BTC until it pumps a lot

buy only by someone else's advice is not the best idea
I like BTC, ETH, NEO, EOS, ICX and not only these

Investing $12000 is too much and really risky but if you know how to manage it well then everything will going to be fine. I suggest don't just invest you money to only one altcoin. The more altcoin you invest the bigger profit you will gain but do some research about the altcoin first. Make sure that it has a good future and potential

Diversification will be the best option. Do some intensive research and invest in about 3 or 4 altcoins.come back in a year's time and check your blockfolio

I recommend you to diversify your investment since 12k USD is a lot of money to invest. I suggest you to hodl 50% of your fund in Bitcoin, 20% in Ethereum, 10% in NEO, 5% in Ripple, 5% in Monero, 10% in small marketcap altcoins or for ICO project.

I would invest half of this amount in bitcoin or even  more because 1 bitcoin costs around 9000$,so I would buy 1btc,and the rest 3000 I would invest in Ripple,Stellar and EOS.in a long run all of them will be doing fine.

it is a large enough amount and you can use it for some altcoin, one thing you should know, do not fall in love on just one coin, use your analysis and look at the fundamental coins you choose

I would not have invested in LTC.  I think this is a bad idea.  I advise you to choose between btc and eth.  This is a more reliable investment.

Wow $ 12000 is not a small amount, in such cases, a lot of people say that the amount should be divided into several parts in your case, I would divide it into 10 projects and select projects that are just emerging today, for example IOST, a very promising project, you can also talk about the NEO project and the Wanchain project, I think that these projects will increase very seriously in price, so you need to take a closer look at them.

I think it is better to invest this good amount of money between many promising crypto currencies, this will minimize the risks and making the percentage of earning even bigger. You can buying Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple in addition with Litecoin of course, and also consider buying the most valuable tokens.
