Please PM if you want H2O's (Eric Maxey) address (Grass Valley, california), where he went to college, his facebook account, his dating website profile link, phone #, and more details.
Tired of this man taking $5,000 per day and not being able to run a server. He claims it is his FULL TIME JOB and he has 2 EMPLOYEES.
LIES.
Every time the stats flat line is a bad payout day because that is when he is STEALING FROM YOU.
Look at his bitcointalk profile. He logs in here EVERY DAY but NEVER POSTS. And no more twitter either
Eric Maxey (H2O) picture: ** REMOVED PICTURE ** [ Good job with investigation tealover! As long as he manages to run a server and answer questions on this forum I have no problem with him taking 3.5% but this is not the case... I'm actually glad people stay on this pool wasting their hashpower into a big black hole. This helps increase profits for other more "secret" pools with proffesional users. Ok, fine. Now, if only those pools existed :-)

I hope the query on the "suggestion" is not what's in place; it's terribly inefficient. For starters, "FROM shares, users" is doing a left join which takes exponentially more resources than the appropriate inner join. Suggested in http://pastebin.com/TQ206qQj: SELECT users.username,COUNT(shares.*) FROM shares, users WHERE time<=FROM_UNIXTIME(1389867642) AND our_result='Y' AND users.userid=shares.userid GROUP BY shares.userid; Much more efficient query: SELECT u.username, COUNT(s.id) FROM shares s INNER JOIN users u ON u.userid=s.userid WHERE s.time<=FROM_UNIXTIME(1389867642) AND s.our_result='Y' GROUP BY s.userid Note that this assumes that the shares table has an "id" column referenced in the COUNT operator. Doing a COUNT(*) also burns up unnecessary resources; it should be COUNT({unique column})

i'm making, outside of the running costs, free money for essentially putting a pc together and running software on it.. and, more free money with middlecoin.. just sitting on my lazy ass, tweaking some settings every now and again.. this cheese is easy.. really, f'n easy..
It may be for you, but that's not my experience. I find it a lot of work keeping 4 rigs going and dealing with issues that keep coming up. I've spent countless hours on researching, building and optimizing my 'operation', I value that time a lot higher than the money I put into it. And everytime I think "ok all is working well, back to life's other interests" sh*t just keeps coming up So it doesn't feel lazy, not at all. And believe you me, I do know what lazy feels like! Boy, do I know lazy!

Why do you think he's having problems with the SQL programming?
Because he hasn't thanked people for help on his twitter feed in reference to SQL database programming.

Is this why the difficulty was raised to 1024? to help lessen the load on the database? And no I don't have a problem with diff 1024. Seems there are at least a couple database specialists here willing to help? Thanks for everyone's MySQL help. The DB is running much faster, mostly due to increasing the innodb log file size. Nor sure if its possible the way the pool is set up but maybe H20 could waive fees for any miners giving him solutions?

These "database stalls" seems to be happening far to often, resulting in a shitty payout and a large amount of unexchanged coins that just gets lost

So funny that a few minutes after tealover posts, simon g rides along to back up his posts with more support! Almost like they are the same person, which makes sense for a crazy person hell bent on hurting this pool. I wish this thread was still useful, but every time the stats glitch you all start screaming that the sky is falling and freak out, or just whine about payouts every day. I've got a lot of hardware pointed at this pool and I'm very happy with how well it works. Buy more cards, buy more risers from me make bigger rigs and get more coin!! Pretty easy to do.

Why do you think he's having problems with the SQL programming?
Because he hasn't thanked people for help on his twitter feed in reference to SQL database programming. He also flat-out said : "My database code isn't very efficient. And the more shares I have, the slower it goes.". Having seen the table and the query I'm shocked we even made it to 15 GH. How many 1024 diff shares per second would that be anyway? Not sure how to calculate that.

take this level of communication and apply it to, say, your isp, your bank, or your mobile provider.. how long would you stick around if they decided to tweet customer service??
no email provided.. no phone number to contact.. just a forum profile link, a faq and the most basic of html sites known to mankind.. there's little to no business transparency at middlecoin, so we're all reduced to speculation.. waiting for a lovely tweet.. (For the record, I read your whole post and know you're fine with the profits of Middlecoin, but I'm responding to this since I've seen this mentioned multiple times now)Seriously, people. Take all of 5 minutes and browse multiple threads not only in this sub-forum, but the bitcoin-only forums as well. Know what you'll find? Trolls, trolls, and more trolls. People willing to yell "SCAM!" at even the slightest hint of trouble, and sometimes you still get people doing it anyway even without any trouble. The huge influx of people into the world of crypto currency are very skittish. Please, by all means: open up a pool and build it up to being one of the largest altcoin pools -- profit-switching or otherwise -- available. Now make your e-mail (even if you create a new one specifically for your pool) public. Setup a phone number for the pool. Everything will be flooded with complaints at the first hint of trouble, never mind the people e-mailing and calling in an attempt to troll. God forbid any one of them gets a hold of your address and calls the police on you for some bogus claim. Time and time again people bring up these downsides. Certainly, if this was my bank or my ISP, services that require me to provide my personal information, then of course I would be wary of the customer service. However, that is not the case here. I am providing a simple wallet address for money to be sent my way, and that is it. No questions asked. My name does not have to be provided, let alone even an e-mail address. There is literally nothing that can be done apart from H20 just keeping all of the coins that we're mining on the pool. And considering I know roughly what to expect from my mining farm, should profits start to consistently be lower then I will move on to a different pool. As would anyone else in that situation. In short: Middlecoin is for the lazy who don't want to bother with multiple exchanges, multiple wallets, or making tons of workers for each new pool. If people want pool admins that will hold their hand in trying to figure everything out to getting everything absolutely perfect, then please go to those pools. I do not need that customer service, as I can figure the shit out on my own. I would rather H20 focus on bettering the pool -- which he is already doing if you read his Twitter -- and doing whatever he can to maximize our profits, which in turn, maximizes his profits. As for the people responding to the obvious trolls: just report them to the moderators, hit ignore, and move on.

I mean no offense, but one rig with 1.2Mh/s? I can imagine how that would only take 1/2 day to setup and why you don't have the problems that others may have. But unless you're running it on Chinese child labour, I don't see how that is even comparable, complexity-wise, let alone more complicated?

What I don't get is a pool that's actively paying out on a daily basis upwards of £100,000 is coming to a standstill statistically, Because one man goes to sleep, (While we just so happen to have massive amounts of unexchanged)
The handling of the site and the pool and the data, If you don't mind me saying, ''Should'' now be treated with a higher amount of urgency because of the status it has achieved.
Or perhaps I'm wrong and we should all accept a man that's earning £3000 a day can just forget about it until hes ready to wake up ?
Why is it your concern how much h20 is earning? Envy? Jealousy? Err.. But that's not what the man was saying, not at all. Oh, and what a great "shut the f**k up or get the f** out" comeback to a reasonable observation (slow applause). After 20 pages or so, it was long overdue Damn miners, coming here and questioning the operation of a pool they share 3% with! Next thing you know they'll be questioning the rock as well! Heresy I tells ya, pure heresy!! But seriously, I think the man raised a valid point. An operation this big shouldn't depend on one man. "it's just a display issue, will be fixed soon"? True, but anything could be happening to the pool when stats are down and no one would ever know about it. It's not like they are ever corrected afterwards (or even could be corrected, since coingeek simply captures the real-time values). So for all we know the pool could go caca-cuckoo while the stats are down and/or the operator's asleep. So it is, we are talking about a lot of money and we all wanna have a short ROI on our hardware/investments. Only H20 knows what's going on when the stats are flatlined, it is no garanty that the submittd shares payed out. Last 3 days where ok but the days before where less good
