Anyone else getting about twice the rejects per the norm? I average about 7% raw rejects here as of the past few days.

Also, when is the difficulty going to return to normal? I'm willing to bet it never will go back to 512.

Let me know if I am doing something right. Smiley

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

The diff really doesn't mean anything.

"Blah blah blah, smaller machines yada yada yada."

On of my machines is only 380kh/s. Still gets a 360 WU. (Gasp, that means I'm still getting the right amount of work submitted!!!!!)

I am guessing difficulty is set that high for the coins being mined (seems like DOGECoin is the coin being mined for the longest).

As for the rejects; I get around 5%. Check the server you are on, make sure it is the closest geographically to you.

Nope, the difficulty was set to 1024 to reduce the load on the servers.  h2o did it about two weeks ago.

Middlecoin Hashrate vs. CGMiner Hashrate

Your hash rate in a pool database is an estimation* based on the number of shares you have submitted.

*Difficulty 1024 = a shit ton of variance for a smaller rig

Your hash rate in CGMiner is an actual hashrate based on the number of hashes you have submitted.

Do you understand how this works?

Your balance is increasing still, with 0MH/s, because your unexchanged balance is being exchanged... It will continue to do so until your unexchanged and immature are 0. It's just processing backlog. Nothing more. But otherwise, no, unless you've failed over to a different pool, your computer isn't doing anything.

I'll say it again. If you aren't using multiple backup pools for immediate failover, you're doing it wrong.

But go ahead and keep blaming h2o for it.

...skipped

Use middlecoin.com:3333 as a failover.

"pools" : [
        {
                "url" : "stratum+tcp://useast.middlecoin.com:3333",
                "user" : "xxx",
                "pass" : "xxx"
        },
        {
                "url" : "stratum+tcp://middlecoin.com:3333",
                "user" : "xxx",
                "pass" : "xxx"
        }
]
.....
"failover-only" : true,
.....

If your cgminer completely freezes and is unable to fail over I would suggest looking into CGWatcher (if you are on Windows). I had it installed and set it up to restart cgminer after 30 minutes of no submitted shares.

Good luck.

Thank you for the response!  Is that what I type into my bat file?  I guess I just have not seen commands like that when looking into setting up my bat file.  In that case would it be wise to add a 3rd server there like west?  Thanks again for your help - eventually will have quite a few rigs running with a friend and want to make sure they will require as little maintenance as possible to save labor time.

Here is the command-line syntax, just add it at the end of the command :

--failover-only -o stratum+tcp://middlecoin.com:3333 -u YOUR_BTC_ADDRESS -p YOUR_PASSWORD

replace YOUR_BTC_ADDRESS and YOUR_PASSWORD with your values and you are good to go.

Awesome thanks much!  I added the failover to my batch and seems to recognize it so good on that end.  Then downloaded and installed CGwatcher per your suggestion and the setup was a breeze.  Here is to saving me labor and getting some housework done instead of running up and downstairs all day making sure everything is running smoothly.  (fingers still crossed, but this looks like it will do the trick).  Maybe my wife will get to see more of me now.   Grin

I do have failover -

Primary: useast.middlecoin.com:3333
Secondary: MIddlecoin.com:3333

Which is why I am asking?

cgminer.exe --scrypt - o stratum+tcp://useast.middlecoin.com:3333 -u YOUR_BTC_ADDRESS -p YOUR_PASSWORD --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://middlecoin.com:3333 -u YOUR_BTC_ADDRESS -p YOUR_PASSWORD ETC ETC ETC

I know it was working as yesterday night it showed the 2 servers at the beginning of running the batch:

Dammit I may need to do a logme in session remote thingy so I can control shit when things go down....

The only change I have made was GPU fan always on 90.... And I have updated my engineclock 4mhz higher which seems to stableise the MHz much better, I selected Screen to Never switch off in windows even though I turn off my monitor from the powerpoint.

But thats the only thing I have changed since yesterday

With the pool difficulty at 1024, this should also lower the bandwidth required on the user side as well correct?  Most likely setting up a rig "farm" on a farm, and the best internet they can get is 3Mbs.  How many mining rigs might this support?

I am pretty sure your cgminer crashed/froze. Perhaps when you get home you'll see what's wrong. I have failover set up and it is been working today.

I said my % has doubled in the past 3-4ish days, compared to remaining stable at other pools.

Lets make it 4092 then? Would that be cool? What or to whom are you even arguing? Quite rude.

The admin mentioned 1024 was temporary, just wondering if there was any news about it.

Same bandwidth, less throughput. You need good upload speeds mostly. It's about 150bp/s upload for cgminer with one r9 290x.

Expect to be able to host thousands of cards per 1mbps upload

Let me know if I am doing something right. Smiley

Stratum bandwidth usage is pretty low to begin with. Submitting work less often lowers that number even more, but it hardly matters at this point (I saw someone mentioned 1kbps per rig). You can easily calculate how much traffic goes through your rig with and without cgminer running and get your own results. So yes, for a single rig probably even a dial-up connection will suffice, for a multi-rig setup - a DSL line.

Ah Dammit - that's it TODAY I am creating  LOGMEIN-Session to my miner for these situations, can you believe that Not Once has CGMiner crashed EVER and I mean EVER.... I really don't see those  tiny config adjustments could have effected it, Althought it is 35c , But before I left the house I turned on the Ducted Air con. I really hope to idiot turned it off.

I'll try the alt server. I've been on the main. Nothing has changed on my end. Stats and submissions began to work ok at 1024 after the first few days, but lately I'm not sure what's up.
_

My stats page is also showing what looks like 0mh/s coming in. Seems like they were nerfed again. My miner shows work being done though.

http://middlecoin2.s3-website-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/reports/175juTRPfiAMxjLfGMtA7QDJPn3YLqPkt1.html

EDIT: they seem to be working again, if that one new peak is something to go off.

Let me know if I am doing something right. Smiley
