There have been numerous altcoins in the past that have been predicted/speculated to dethrone Bitcoin as the top coin. But none has actually materialized. That title has been made for Bitcoin and none would even come close in the near future.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the
subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The
subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

You can only beat Bitcoin if you can 90%+ attack it and change it else forget it. Bitcoin is the first mover. Else Ripple would already won when it got released if it was that simple.  |

I think anyone can say that any new altcoin can beat bitcoin. Maybe there were good points in some certain coins that bitcoin dont have, but still they are new to the cryptoworld, and some features must be tried and proven first and be stable in the market like Bitcoin.

Why does everyone wants to beat Bitcoin? Just let Bitcoin be Bitcoin and your other coin become Alts.

I think is not possible to beat the Bitcoin, But this is the origin of all Crypto and no one can beat the original and because of its reputation and popularity. The Ethereum will be the next Bitcoin it may not go up to same level. That's my opinion |

More and more altcoins that are getting developed promote themselves making comparison with the features of bitcoin. In particular right now bitcoin is lacking in faster confirmation, and the same has been mentioned with several other altcoins as their better feature. In reality providing a sustained growth as bitcoin is not possible with any other altcoins.
