In particular right now bitcoin is lacking in faster confirmation, and the same has been mentioned with several other altcoins as their better feature. I'm not aware of the coin mentioned in the thread author's post, but I'm pretty sure, that some of the new coins/tokens will dominate the market in future. Bitcoin will stay as legacy of course, but cryptocurrency market is still quite new, and it has awesome growth possibilities, so more innovative coins will appear.
