Where's tapeout?
  Tongue

Let me put it this way: I rushed to get these details out before tapeout, so that they wouldn't be overshadowed by more exciting news Smiley

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

In your example, we would give you enough ASICs to double the amount of additional hashing capacity that you would have needed - not just enough to break even.

So say instead of 2, you would give 4. So I'll have to pay 4x boards/4x assembly/4x delivery. Have to use even MORE money before than to get back my money. You say more than break even so I'm assuming it's enough to just cover the electricity/boards/assembly/delivery and not just the initial purchase only. I mean it would be dumb to say you're going to give guaranteed profits but you're not saying that since this is not an insurance policy  Roll Eyes

By the way, what do you mean by licensed rig makers? Would you be licensing your boards to them so they can build it or is it just verified/certified rig builders?

If it's the former, damn you're going to be making even more money.

And as well as electricity costs/running costs?

You know a better thing to do would be to offer refunds at anytime prior to delivery.
Refunds are not better, they don't make you any ROI or profit.

Well at least it beats potentially having to waste/risk your money/time for a duration of 4~ months with no real incentives, profit guaranteed or even if this whole thing will turn to have a working ASIC or not.

The MPP doesn't guarantee anything. They will just give you more chips and then you'll have to spend even more money/time/risk to put those chips onto a board. You don't even know if you'll even get your ROI back.

At least with refunds before delivery, if the company doesn't show anything by the proposed date, you just request ur money, get the fuck out and not be in a situation like BFL.

Well at least with BFL, if you paid with CC or Paypal, you can still force a chargeback/refund. With hashfast bitcoin only, there's zero recourse.

Hashfast can shutdown in 2 months and just walk away from it all. People won't be able to do jack all.

Come on man. You only answered like 1/10th of my questions from the last and the other and the other. And ignored most.

And another question. These boards for the propose MPP chips. I believe they are 3rd party? As in you don't want to do anything with it right? You just ship us the chips and we do whatever we want with it?

Okay what if there are no willing board makers/3rd party for your chip? What then?

God also hope these 3rd parties don't have delays  Shocked

As opposed to no product, no refunds like BFL?

No refunds only if you're foolish enough to pay in bitcoins Wink

FTC will have something to say about that... there will be an end game and BFL is not going to weasle out of their obligations that easily. Nor will Avalon. Fair warning on BTC that is why reputable 3rd party escrow is required. Or deal with people who have given refunds in BTC in the past. JohnK is my hero. We need more ways to get companies to work with the JohnKs of the world.

Yep and that'll be big news when it happens but I don't see that happening any time soon yet. So for the meantime, I'm not really comfortable paying preorders/expensive items with bitcoins unless they have a refund policy before delivery or in case of no delivery in place.

And yes bitcoins definitely needs a escrow service in place. Paypal could be the one when and if they implement bitcoins into their funding method.

Even bitpay can do it but that'll take some massive expansion.

We are talking to 3rd parties about making boards, and we will be selling them as well.

That sounds not too bad if we don't make ROI with initial machine. So we can just send you some money (board/assemble/shipping) and the chip is included free.

I just don't like the idea of even spending more/risking more after already spending big to earn more.

How much would the board/rig cost anyway minus the chip? You should have some figures already in mind.

1k? 2k? 3k?
