We have a lot of amd based rigs in the midlands area of the uk.
the -ttli feature is very very useful
its been VERY hot today and yesterday
set -ttli 70 on the config file of each rig about three weeks ago

nothing overheated over these last few days.
everything throttled back in the heat of afternoon . very nice.
and they speed up again at night.

we use ghost spectre windows 10 - no updates no bloat and no telemetery.
mix of rx5700 , 580s, 5600s 470s 480s all sorts. amd driver 20.9.1 or later

a lot of folk dont read the readme file that comes with phoenix
you should - the feature you need is probably described in the readme.

so top tip - set -ttli 70 and maybe even -mi 8  in the summer heat
prevent damage to your cards and rigs

PhoenixMiner currently does not use GitHub so this post (again) is suspicious.
Check the OP, on page 1, for link to real versions of PhoenixMiner.

Yep indeed. As soon as I see them I report them to the moderator. The quicker they get reported the less chance people will click on them.

So here is a question, which I'm not sure is possible, but wanted to throw it out there.
Doing ETC Party mining on zergpool, which passes its arguments through the -p field.
What we're trying to figure out is, can we somehow also dual mine ZIL, which usually also passes its arguments through the -p field.
So far I haven't had any luck trying to separate the two, any ideas would be appreciated!

The scammers are getting more sophisticated. They've apparently found a way to quickly cross 100 activity/posts to make posting restrictions even harder.

Antivirus has always and forever detected mining software as malware. To an extent, I even suspect that file hosting and git repositories may have removed them because they ran automated malware scans and decided their course of action on that. Mining applications are almost all closed source because the developers implement a fee they benefit from, but also to keep whatever makes theirs good away from competition.

There are always risks associated with running closed source software from anon devs that is also detected as malware. It has always been the case and the most we can do is trust teams with a history of development and community trust. They can also be run without admin rights, sandboxed, or closed in by additional security software that supports HIPS/rules on what it can and cannot change. Furthermore because most of the mining work is done on dedicated rigs, the damage from infection or data theft is low, provided you're smart enough not to keep sensitive info on a rig.

If you're looking for open source software, Excavator is in active development by the NiceHash team. But it currently only supports nVidia cards. In terms of a mining software that can run on both AMD and nVidia cards just as effectively, it's hard to beat PhoenixMiner, although some people use specific miners for specific brands of cards to get an extra 2-3% out of them. Again, most of that software is also closed source and the devs are anonymous.

If the software is to be closed source and is well enough protected from tampering, non-anonymous teams would be putting themselves at risk in terms of blackmail, threats or violence from people who would want to hijack it for nefarious purposes such as malware or secretly mining for them. The more popular the miner, the bigger the target.

The crypto world has always been very fast, very technical and perhaps also owing from its crypto-anarchist credos, very anonymous. This has made it very treacherous for the uninformed. Always follow sensible practices on informing yourself, securing your systems, protecting your wallets and sensitive info, and setting up safeguards just in case. I have folder-wide rules on what applications, registry keys, device APIs and file paths the mining software can use. With multiple applications for multiple algorithms, there's always a chance that at some point something will go wrong. This is both to protect from malicious devs and the possibility of an unknown vulnerability hijacking them. I'm also careful of how and where I store my wallets. You feel much more confident in running something like PhoenixMiner once you know you've done your due diligence.

I have a Vega 56 card in my Ampere rig.
It's a good card, with the rig timings I can get 48 MH/s using Team Red Miner.
But I can't get past 43 MH/s using Phoenix Miner.
Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I tried some settings, but there isn't much I can really do, to my knowledge.
I'm trying to switch my rig to Phoenix Miner (I'm using Trex + TRM right now), but I' don't get why I'm loosing so much on Vega.
Any advice?
Thanks for your help.

yes it looks like faster mem timings are not getting applied if you see 42+ vs 48+

I too am having issues with this currently. i can hit 44 but nothing over. if i use TRM i can get 51. ive set the mem timings myself on each. only reason im using phoenix now is im also using an nvidia card in this rig. might put that in a different rig if this cant get fixed up.

It's odd, but I've found that some timings on a Vega 56 work better with TRM and different timings work better with PhoenixMiner.

Do you guys experience a hash rate drop?

It seems both Phoenixminer and T-rex miner drop in hash rate compared a month ago.
Can anyone confirm if they also or other people who mine ETH experienced the same thing? I'm just worrying and maybe there is a breach on my OS stealing my hashrate.

Decided to end it with zer0 profit.

There was another overnight!!! I registered to report it, but I'm too new and don't see the report button yet.

It kinda sucks being the best and having to put up with the envious ones.

I had to report all the fakes over on github too.

Before I even came upon this whole story I had reviewed and read about nicehash and something in the stuff I read made me decide to stay clear of them. And it wasn't based on any user reviews..... SO glad I avoided them....

That's weird, I wasn't aware of that limitation.  It must only apply to "Brand New" accounts.  I have a newbie account I use on unsecured devices to read the forum, and I'm able to report posts from that account.  Now that you've made a post and upgraded to "newbie," you should be able to use the report link.

Just weird but the estimated mining reward drop by at least 50% compared last month. Do you experience the same? Is it correlated to Eth 2.0?

I have nothing to compare it to since I just started last month.

But I'm having problems even getting over 15MH on my XFX RX-580! I usually run about 9ish.

It's on an old ASUS P6T-SE which is PCIe 2.0 but GPU-Z says 580 can run on a PCIe 3.0.

Could that be why its not working as hard as everyone elses 580s, or has anyone had 20+MH on an old MOBO with this card?

Thanks!

No hashrate drop in Phoenix miner. My Rx 6800 XT-s are doing the same 59.7 Mhsh with stock settings without me tuning anything. The same goes to all my other cards like Rx 5700 XT and RTX 3060 ti.The strange thing is only with one old card a Gtx 1080 ti,I can't go over 38 Mhsh even following all the different settings learned here or in other places,I guess it is the card itself which doesn't perform anymore as it should because it is too old.
