Bitcoin can't be replaced as of now since the fluctuation of the market is just normal. Ethereum can still be no. 2 for now but how long can it hold the spot? Some altcoins could rise anytime and can place no.2

I think Ethereum can win the competition with Bitcoin for the first place in the crypto-currency world only if Bitcoin doesn't upgrade.
At present, Ethereum transactions are much faster and cheaper than Bitcoin, which gives it significant advantages.
However, as I know Coinbase launches SegWit at the end of February, so I think that Bitcoin is still out of reach for Ethereum.

i dont think ethereum will be the next bitcoin because now the of value BTC is hugely increasing that it might even go 50k usd it its highly demanded and its the first crypocurrency so it has a high impression

I think Bitcoin is mostly a speculative store of money. Ethereum is also struggling with network congestion and stuff like that. Maybe it will conquer btc, but i think there are already better coins than ether.
Do you think we have a coin that is better than ethereum except Bitcoin? And what is it? Ethereum is always under the bitcoin. So I think eth is better to be the next on bitcoin. |

Ethereum Will the Next Bitcoin? - Through the year 2017, the value of bitcoin digital currencies go up to touch the highest level in history. However, bitcoin is not the only digital currencies whose value is streaked.

its hard, but i think it can be. cause the development of ETH is in a positif way. stable price, and stable developmet. and i think for 3 or 4 years again, eth will have some price as price bitcoin. |

this two coins is good and the price was high but we should know that they have different use the ethereum was used for the smart contracts and also the bitcoin was the backbone of all the altcoin but still nobody can defeat bitcoin as of now!

It is possible that Ethereum will overtake bitcoin due to smart contract. Bitcoin will still have the first mover advantage but it won't be for long if RSK and other developments will not be released this year.

We dont know maybe I think it takes years or decades after ethereum will go on top. Many estimating bitcoin for now because of low market price but the day will come bitcoin will rise up again stand beyond all coins to prove that bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrencty

I don't think it'll happen.Of course Ethereum has a great future.But Bitcoin means Bitcoin.It is the main root of crypto.New coins will come to the market with great ideas.But I think Bitcoin would be able to keep his place as the king of the crypto.

Though Ethereum is popular and being trusted by people nowadays but one thing is for sure that not as widely as Bitcoin. Widely I mean to say is the number of people following BTC are much much more than any other altcoins. So its really very difficult to beat Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is a symbol in cryptocurrency since we can see this from the amount of transactions and frequency while ETH is a platform for services related with blockchain. And pretty sure that ETH would still sit in the second place for a long time because millions of people would prefer bitcoin due to business. I guess nothing can replace with BTC.

Until any coin experiences 20% of what bitcoin has experienced we can then even compare them. a cryptocurrency above all is about security, thats the very first criteria, and bitcoin has proven so far how robust it is. Then comes scalability, and scalability comes with usage, and no coin has been used as much as bitcoin, so its naive to even compare to any other crypto currently.
