This guy has lost 103 bitcoins he mined back in 2011 and then lost his wallet dat file similar to what I have done but wow this guy must be gutted the amount of money he has lost compared to me

His Address    166BuLPWHUjqoqiYp5rGE3B5r5AmqgHpoL    Final Balance   103.20832384 BTC

So many people have the same problem and I wonder just how much Bitcoin is stuck not being able to be used Sad

He says "I used to mine Bitcoin back in 2011 and I lost my wallet.dat file (through several stupid moves on my part). It's got approx 103 BTC in it, anyone is welcome to it, I've given up trying."

I will feel very disappointed if I am that guy who lost a lot of bitcoins. It is not easy to earn that big amount of bitcoins, you need a lot of skills and knowledge that you should use in order for you to retrieve that big amount of loss.

That's unfortunate. However one must always store your backup files somewhere such as cloud,so it will be never stolen or it won't disappear. There are many people who have under gone the same circumstances. But being cautious and careful will save you from such unfortunate incidents. However I really wish that this person will ultimately can have his earned bitcoin back.

That's a lot of money i know, that is why we have to be very careful with our coins.
Now, that we have altcoins also, and the price is still cheap, we might not value this much like bitcoin but there is a chance it will grow in the future.
Just like bitcoin, it started with less than a dollar and now the price is really increasing.

I think the number of lost bitcoins is very large, just people do not admit it ... Personally, I lost 1.02 BTC a couple of years ago. When moved to a new apartment I lost a flash drive with Bitcoin Sad

oh my lord its very painful I hope his current financial situation is good enough to ignore it.

no, he lost his dat file when in 2011
at that time bitcoin was not as expensive as it is today
but i'm sure he really regrets it now
yes because the price of 1 bitcoin is approximately 1-2 dollars. and 103 bitcoin is only around 100-200 bucks.
can you imagine it now? even at the lowest price of the year, the price is so fantastic. everyone will surely regret such experiences.

Well 103 bitcoin lost is huge already if you will convert that one to fiat money even if the market price for bitcoin will be 6K USD per BTC. Thus, bitcoins that is being lost could not be retreive by anyone else and it could not also be deleted i guess so it will stay forever in that way.

Unfortunately, when you lose the same amount of money, even if you do not want to lose it, to this point your $ figure will be approximately $ 700 when the Bitcoin price is around $ 6000 - 7000. You should know that the amount of Bitcoin is only 24 million BTC and when you lose a number it is also a waste.

Wow, lost 103 bitcoins! This is a thing that surprised me, but if the file is lost, then it is almost impossible to get back your bitcoin!

I do believe that this loss of his is not that significant as it would if I will be losing it, because for whales those amounts of money are not that significant as they are for us obviously.

Wow, what a hard lesson to learn. At that time, bitcoins were not worth so many people who were careless with their wallets. I heard that some hard drives were accidentally thrown away or wiped cleaned with their coins.

say goodbye to the coin, nobody will ever be able to open the wallet again.
This is also a lesson for everyone, to keep their wallet's private key completely safe.

I wonder what percentage of all bitcoins are lost? Because a lot of people who bought and long ago, when it cost a few bucks and forgot about it or lost access to their wallets.
