if in cryptocurrency of course if it is gone then it will not come back but it if the loss is stolen by others but if it lost it because it forgot its key then there is hope that it could come back if later one day the key is found

This guy has lost 103 bitcoins he mined back in 2011 and then lost his wallet dat file similar to what I have done but wow this guy must be gutted the amount of money he has lost compared to me

His Address    166BuLPWHUjqoqiYp5rGE3B5r5AmqgHpoL    Final Balance   103.20832384 BTC

So many people have the same problem and I wonder just how much Bitcoin is stuck not being able to be used Sad

He says "I used to mine Bitcoin back in 2011 and I lost my wallet.dat file (through several stupid moves on my part). It's got approx 103 BTC in it, anyone is welcome to it, I've given up trying."

Oh my god, that is such a big amount, if I have that amount and lose it, maybe I will be a crazy man right now. Imagine the amount, if I have it I can make my dreams come true.
I hope his/her can recover his/her bitcoins whatever it takes. So sorry to hear this news, but we can take this story as a lesson for us, so it wont happen again in the future.

Ledger isn't the be it and end all. You can still lose it and it can still break. If you don't have your private keys backed up then your going to lose a lot if the hardware fails. I don't understand why so many people think the ledger and Trezor is unbreakable and you'll never lose coins. People have lost coins from not backing up. It protects you against malware and thats it.

I know a lot of cases when people lost their bitcoins due to similar reasons. So it should be as rule to have back up at least in 3 places

it would be very sorry it had happened to him, even more so if you look at the current price when bitcoin touches $ 16000. hopefully the same thing will not happen again and for all keep your wallet.

His experience tells us that we must keep my wallet. In a centralization network, missing keys means nothing. Though bitcoin was still a low price at that time, it was a bad experience. I hope he can forget it as soon as possible. Remembering the past will bring no benefits.

There are many stories like this, I remember a guy who threw away his hard-drive that had 7500 Bitcoins on it.
He tried to get permission to go to the landfill to try and find his HD, but the counsil didn't allow it.

So there's a hard drive with 7500 Bitcoins on a landfill somewhere, slowly decaying.

I heard that now psychics and fortunetellers offer services for recovering passwords for lost wallets with bitcoins, maybe over time someone come up with how to recover such data, but now we have to be more careful about our wallets.

It was because he is very reckless. We all know that a big amount of bitcoin should be stored in cold storages to ensure that your profits will be kept safe. Or, he should have started withdrawing his money by the year 2016.

Hard to imagine what my reaction would be if this happened to me. I think we should, from this sad event, learn yet another lesson for our lives so that in the future we will not be in a similar situation.

He/she could have been a millionaire by now. What a good wasye of 103 btc. Now it will be uselessly kept locked within that address and won't be returning to the circulation for a long time. I hope somehow the guy/gal gets to recover it and enjoy his/her wealth.

This is a fortune. Hope he has learned a lesson, never to keep all your coins just in one wallet, especially not such huge amount and not to be so careless about hte wallet and related data.
It's sad that nothing actually can't be done to recover those coins.
