Check out my YouTube video where I dive more in depth : BREAKING NEWS KFC is now accepting Bitcoin, and Smart contracts might be legally binding!

Is this just a bucket of chicken, or a bucket of publicity stunts?

You will be able to buy a bucket of chicken in Select Canada KFC's. However you will have to order it online using Bitpay, and have it shipped to you.

Cost : Around $20 + $5 shipping + Taxes + Any other blockchain fees

What do you guys think about it?

Wont't that make the kfc food much or expensive relying on the high network fees offered by bitcoin. You see to transfer around $20 itself blockchain.com wallet takes some similar amount itself. How are you planning to pay almost double for the very same thing? Not really liked the idea its better if they come up with payment in some other currency like dogecoin or Ether which is low fee.
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

It's amazing that after the news about Mcdonalds to accept bitcoin as payment here somes another all time favorite fast food restaurant to accept bitcoin too. Well that's a good news for us because it is an easier transaction straight from our bitcoin wallet. Me and my family would be enjoying more meals with these restaurants in the future.

There is a fast food chain in Turkey which is accepting bitcoin as well but I don't think that it's sustainable since execution without strategy is a nightmare!

Do you guys think this is going to be huge for cryptocurrency or just a KFC marketing scheme?

If the news is anything to go with , off course it will be very huge for  cryptocurrencies. This is because it will encourage more companies to also introduce payment of their wares with bitcoin and not only bitcoin, it would facilitate the use of altcoins like ethereum, litecoin for a start.

So 20 bucks + taxes + 30-50 bucks of blockchain fees. Hmm, sounds like a good offer.

That's a good news for the bitcoin users. Big companies are starting to accept bitcoin as payment, then more will follow. This is a new wave for the cryptocurrencies. However, the transaction fees are quite high.

That is good news for the Bitcoin. I don't see any impact of this news yet in Bitcoin price which is not moving up. I hope it is not fake news but if it the news is true I expect the price of Bitcoin to move up. KFC is a pioneer compared to other same players of same industry , like Burger King, Pizza Hut , McDonalds in accepting cryptocurrency and I think this will give them a little boost to get more market share.

I hope this will happen here in the Philippines also, I love KFC. I hope more merchants/establishments will accept Bitcoin payment around the world. This would be great for everyone who are holding Bitcoins.

This is a marketing action that does not last long

"While KFC Canada does not intend to integrate bitcoin as a permanent and long-term payment method as of current, the company has introduced its bitcoin campaign to address the rapidly increasing demand for bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market in general." - KFC Canada

I saw this the other day,

I could eat a BitBucket now!

The more mainstream companies accept BTC the better, its still very early in the crypto game.

Lets all BY PASS THE BANKS FOREVER!

I do not understand why a lot of people are going to be satisfied if they prefered restaurant or store starts accepting bitcoin, anyway, would you pay $20 for fees for a single meal of $15 or $20? Of course not.
That is why you can use bitcoin pre-loaded cards.

I think is good News For all Cryptocurrency user. KFC accepts payments with bitcoin. But I'm not sure its real of fake news, I hope soon all retail store are accepted Bitcoin

I doubt about it. I really don't like the fact that those capitalist bloody minded companies are into blockchains. first of all blockchain is based on decentralization which is totally against capitalism.

I'm wondering how KFC can accept Bitcoin when BTC fees are through the roof and confirmation takes so long.

wow good news that industries like fast food chains are adapting to the technology of bitcoin rather block chain this is one of the walking advertisement that would catch the eyes of future users and investors because their questioning mind will think what is bitcoin does it have to offer good service why big companies like KFC are using it? mean's its on the level of paypal master and visa in payments when it is offered to the public as form of payment or as good as cash

Even tho it is a brilliant initiative from such a multinational food chain and is a big step for cryptocurrencies as they are adopted and recognized by compagnies around the globe and is somehow a sort of publicity and free advertisement that serves both parties , i'd still prefer using normal credit card with fiat as a main currency to buy any sort of food since i'll be charged with extra fees , transactions will take forever to confirm especially with such a congested network and i'll be buying food with an amount of crypto that could become worth 10 times the next day (people will be saying here and it can also be worth 0 , well i'd prefer it becomes null and void than realizing i paid a fortune for some chicken wings !! ) .
Fiat money is the most suitable for such purchases and it'll be much quicker and easier to process for both buyer and seller .
It won't last certainly and might be just a marketing action for KFC but it's certainly a brilliant one .
