i'd still prefer using normal credit card with fiat as a main currency to buy any sort of food since i'll be charged with extra fees , transactions will take forever to confirm especially with such a congested network and i'll be buying food with an amount of crypto that could become worth 10 times the next day

Fiat is still unbeatable when it comes to smaller purchases, but it's just a matter of time before we can see people make use of Lightning Network for just a fraction of the cost of current transaction fees. I however have to point out that while people complain about the fees being an obstacle when it comes to conducting purchases, I don't believe this at all. As per the bolded part of your post, I believe that to be the main reason why people aren't spending their coins. People simply don't want to use their coins to buy whatever goods with, and that is something we have also been dealing with years ago, so it's not a new problem we recently have faced. Lightning network will mainly function to allow people to conduct micro transactions, and not really to enhance their spending on goods experience.

Well that could be a good news on you. I couldn't be like that here in my country coz they won't legalized bitcoin or the whole cryptocurrency. It s a brilliamt idea to use bitcoin as a payment but the problem is you have to pay a mining fee which is higher these day.

Adoption is always great news. We need to retain the businesses that started accepting bitcoin until the devs can find good scaling solutions to increase btc's utility.

Check out my YouTube video where I dive more in depth : BREAKING NEWS KFC is now accepting Bitcoin, and Smart contracts might be legally binding!

Is this just a bucket of chicken, or a bucket of publicity stunts?

You will be able to buy a bucket of chicken in Select Canada KFC's. However you will have to order it online using Bitpay, and have it shipped to you.

Cost : Around $20 + $5 shipping + Taxes + Any other blockchain fees

What do you guys think about it?

This is great for promotion but for being wise not so much. Bitcoin transfer fee is almost half the price of what you will transfer. I hope they minimize the fee so it can be used in this kind of applications more.

This is my thoughts, with the high fees I am sure they understand that they wont be getting a ton of people and its fine because it is just marketing a hype.

due to the high volatility, it could be “$20 bucket today, $5 bucket tomorrow, $200 bucket next week,”.

Also, the cost of the bucket would come out to about $40 due to a $20 transaction fee.!

I think it's a good news to bitcoiners.it's a good start for bitcoins to be accepted in a famous fast food chain store like KFC.
Who knows the next is not just in Canada, and not just KFC who accept bitcoin as payment.

Well, although this is good news for the continuity of cryptocurrency, but I would like to ask a simple question: Would you buy fried chicken with bitcoin?
If transaction fees and confirmation time are long, I think bitcoin is still not effective for micro-payment. And easier to use fiat.

This is a good start, indicating that bitcoin has started to be widely used and that there are more people who know bitcoin.

Oh that’s nice that it is possible now to use KFC. And costs don’t look too high. At the moment I try to find cheap platform and wallet. Maybe KFC will become my tool. Let’s believe for better.

You can still buy KFC with fiat, and only use bitcoin online for a limited amount of time. Which makes me think it is just a marketing scheme.
