Can these shmucks get a scammer tag now please BCT?

I forgot they will probably give you lots of money to advertise this vaporware on the forum.

Their ban also redirects back here to Bitcoin talk. How this community supports their shit is beyond me

I'm not one for donations but if you must go ahead and I will keep you in mind. =)

Feels like yet another good time for a...

Public Service Announcement:

If you have ordered from Butterfly Labs (BFL) and have not yet received your product, you are entitled to a refund whenever you request one (per FTC rules).

First ask Butterfly Labs (BFL) for one, they will probably say no but you might get lucky.
If you ordered via PayPal you can file a complaint with them even if you are outside the 45 day window. One customer has already gotten a refund from PayPal that was outside the 45 days.

If you ordered via BTC or Bank wire, you can fill out a complaint with the FTC and they will advocate for you with Butterfly Labs (BFL) to get your refund. You can also contact the office of the Kansas Attorney General and inform them that you have had your money taken with no product delivered for months, just more promises.

There are also several threads on how to get a refund from Butterfly Labs (BFL), here are two:

ROFL so when everyone transfers their order they will magically catch up on all pre-order shipping by september.  Also notice no more credit card option.

Yup, you got it in one! Grin

People who bought before price doubling and they are transferring only what you spent not the new prices.  Chip credits don't do shit to purchase price.  400 per month hosting.  Triple ROFL.

the funny thing is no matter how BFL and all other companies fucked up people, they are still making pre-ordes hoping to get their prototypes first, and I bet that people already pre-ordered.

people get in line make your pre-order today , you will be so sorry later threw your money on them go go hahahahahahahahahaah

BFL never had a chance to get a merchant account with a CC company. PayPal has learned their lesson.

To play devils advocate for just a moment:
If BFL just does a reference board + firmware and only resells the chips they pay their contractors to design and the fab to produce, then this product might not be the epic trainwrecks of their previous products.
no psu trouble either

Fucking psu trouble is silly.
As someone who has ordered 300w psus by the hundreds before it's soooo easy to get them in. There is no demand or shortage. Takes a God damn week to get 500 of them. Not a fucking year like BFL

You say that, but there's some guys in China that were expecting to receive and ship a load of chips, and all they got sent were PSUs. True story. Tongue

Really?  Why would it be PCIex16.  I get the idea of making it PCIe so using standard motherboards to densely rackmount.  By why PCIex16?  Using a x1 slot would allow more cards per mother board.

People still have those riser cable from GPU mining rigs Grin

3 of these cards will make it 1.8T,  almost 1000x faster than a 2.1GH 3x5970 rig, is it really possible? Both 28nm tech, why kncminer consumes 1KW for 400GH while they can make it 4x more efficient???

Anyway I think this is targeting the right user, they know the history and culture of mining

I hope a load of suckers cancel their Jalapeno orders.  Brings the huge queue in front of my order a lot shorter. Smiley

In all honesty, from their standpoint, it's not a bad way to clear some of the disgruntled backlog and avert the rest of the discontent from delayed products a few months.
By charging an xfer fee to people in queue 10 months just to start them all over again??!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Fuck me in the ass once, shame on me. Fuck me in the ass twice, when are we getting married?

Speaking directly to this point, it's a strategy that has worked very well for AMD and NVidia. BFL would be wise to take a page from their playbook.

The first thing I thought was they are trying to appeal to the oldskool rig guys, but BFL and heat issues scare the crap out of me, however after their experience they best be damned experts at cooling!

PCIE x1 would work fine with riser cables.  BTW it appears it is PCIe x1 their photoshop artist just doesn't know what that looks like.

BFL has been pretty consistently wrong about power consumption.  Every estimate of every product has been low and later revised to more realistic power consumption numbers.  Of course this has also resulted in numerous delays, incorrect parts, and redesigns too.

KNC simply says less than 1KW.

BFL needs to die, if anybody buys anything from them they are triple retarded lol

I have a better idea! Let us, the smart people, amass more bitcoins. At the same time, all the BFL naysayers support them. When the exchange rate doubles or triples, we cash out, leaving the fuckin' idiots who ordered from BFL holding the bag, for we'll just come back here and continue where we left off--sticking it up BFL's ass.

Genius!

Look at that beauty !
PCI !!!
Yeah !!!

Meanwhile KNC show us a cheap refurb case....ROFL...

GO BFL !!! GO !!!

The aesthetics of the case is literally the last thing I care about in a bitcoin miner.  I guess it all depends if you want one to mine bitcoins or to show off to friends and dinner guests?
