Recently Bloomberg posted the information that it took hackers less than 10 years to steal over 14% of all existing Bitcoins and Ethereum from the wallets of their holders. The total sum they have stolen is more than $1,2 billion! How to protect yourself from hackers attacks? Are you afraid of this stuff?
Hi, trully speaking, I afraid hackers. For consumers and crypto buyers, the crypto-jungle is a real mess as far as security is concerned.Hackers can publish real fake trading apps to buy assets on a crypto-exchange (eg Poloniex) but you re trading nowhere…you just sending money to a dummy hacker account.

Of course I'm afraid of hackers. But it makes me learn more about hardware wallets, cold wallets and paper wallets.

Of course I am afraid, hackers in cryptocurrency very dangerous they can easily drain our wallet very easily. but it can be solved by maintaining the account properly, we need to do is keep the same from the browser and do not make mistakes when logging in which must include the address and stay alert to Virus & Malware

It is very hard pill to swallow, that danger in crypto. But I think I found a cure. I basically spend more time to research coins, even looking at links from xray sites, so I think its gonna be hard to hack me Cheesy

Crypto is risky and will remain that way for awhile. The big rewards come with big risks. If you're this worried, then I would recommend spreading out the risk. Use the Ledger (or more than one), paper wallets, desktop wallets, etc. Go slow and only move a small amount to begin until you know what you're doing.

Who is not afraid of them? they can even hack some government sites which has a great wall to stop them but still can find a hole to enter on it.
hackers are hackers and will do what ever they want so i hope they cant notice me and try to do that to me as i have no power to stop them on hacking my system "computer".

After my participation in DAO ICO and the hack attacks on this project I am more aware about security measures. After the platform was attacked by hackers all my tokens were stolen. Anyway all my money were returned by administration.

1.2billion, 14% of total? This is quite a scary thing.
I am not an expert in Software Engineering.  But as the news mentions, it seems that security leaks does not only occur because of holders' misconduct. Sometimes the software of the blockchain can be bugged at the first place.
It sounds vague to me.  Can anyone give a more detailed description or example of it? Thanks!

Frankly speaking that I am afraid. I thought of it much... these  hackers they are very inventive, it is worth being afraid of them. It is necessary to observe security measures and to divide the funds for several purses and the exchanges.

Hackers do not take everything you have unless you are a millionaire. They will take a bit from several wallets.  This is how they try to remain invisible Smiley  but as for me it is sad that they direct their skill to destruction,  but not creation.

I am afraid of them because they can take my coins away which is hard to make so I don't want to lose them. But I think the situation will be different in the future and we will be more safe.

Unfortunately we cannot change anything with this awful situation, when hackers attack. Yes, we can pick paper wallet and install the latest anti-virus program, but no one can be 100% sure he will not be hacked.

Yes, I'm afraid of hackers who can turn your wealth into zero overnight.

Use private key to encrypt as much as possible. Encrypt the password as much as you can in cold storage.

This is a very debatable topic at the moment, as more and more people are hacked and hacked by their personal data, you need to figure out how to fight them because they do not want to give their money to them.

I think that every person who has several coins on his account is worried about their safety. In order to avoid problems you must follow some simple rules for storing coins. The most important of these rules is using of hardware/cold wallets to store your private keys. Watch guides on Youtube about crypto security. It's very useful.

I'm not afraid of hackers because they understand and well versed in social engineering. But no one is safe) I Think it's more dangerous to be captured for extortion.
