This project is a platform for cinema lovers. It allows you to have a large video library to watch movies whenever you want and at the same time it allows you to promote new movies collaborating in them.

Hey everyone - thank you for your continued interest and questions.

Just wanted to clarify the difference between the Netflix Model and the CRYPTOFLIX Model.

Netflix is mainly comparable to a Pay TV channel, except they do not have a fixed schedule. They pay license fees for the period where the content is on their platform up front and users can watch the movies as many times as they want, when they want.

In the film industry windows, Netflix is among the last stops in the income waterfall before free TV, but after VOD and DVD/BluRay. So Netflix will not have brand new movies, other than their own, because the content owners want income from the other windows first.

Also Netflix are producing their own content, which I believe they have re-allocated as many funds to as for licensing in 2018 so likely expect more of their own content going forward and less third party content.

The CRYPTOFLIX Model is more comparable to that of iTunes, which is a revenue sharing model where the content owners put their content on the platform against a share of the revenue and at no cost other than storage and administration to the platform.

CRYPTOFLIX will be different than the existing platforms in that it will be possible to use the platform without an Apple device and without a credit card (by using FLIX Tokens) and we will have more flexibility for the content owners in that the minimum quality requirements for entry onto the platform will be lower than the minimum standards for iTunes etc. and also our pricing structure will be more flexible. Also we can use smart contracts to share the revenue instantly with the content owners - in the current platforms this can take months or even years.

Difference between Netflix and Cryptoflix is more clear to me. Now I wonder is there already an existing Itunes like movie sharing platform outside of blockchain?

I think a lot of people are relating it to Netflix, just due to the similarities in the name. It is nice to see a compact explanation about the differences so people can invest confidently.

That's an awsome idea! Most people prefer videos that explain the project instead of reading whitepapers, although imo Cryptoflix wp is easy to read and explains everything well and understandable . Btw, exemplary work of you and Christian in this thread!

I'm sure that there are a lot of good budget films - they are less popular due to the fact that there are no posters and advertisements.

The total budget takes about 40% for marketing and advertizing. Sometimes that is senseless, but they never know if the movie will finally be successful or not

That is a good point. I hope they will implement some kind of encryption during streaming to avoid such issues and I assume they will.

Everyone is prone to piracy. Even Netflix and amazon aren't able to tackle this.

Piracy is impossible to end. But this kind of services is a great way to reduce this problem.

You have to be cheap, so cheap, that it is not worth watching virally contaminated movies on dubious portals and to be afraid to be prosecuted, then you will succeed.

when cryptoflix serve a tv series, it mean they partnership with film producer or studio to get this, it possible.

i think so, at least they want to serve it faster. this is about film industry, they need to talk film producer, studio, etc first before launching their platform
