Does having a difficulty as high as 512 reduce my profits?

No. The only downside is that it increases your very short-term variance since you'll only find a share every minute or so on a 1 MH/s rig. There is misinformation on the bitcoin forum stating that a high difficulty reduces your profit if you have a slow GPU. This is untrue. It has no influence on your profit.

on fast moving altcoins (1 or 2 minute rounds) and with high diff value, a slow gpu, such as mine at 125kH pretty much will never (except lucky odd occasions)
get an accepted result submitted before stratum tells it to drop what it's doing and move onto a new block.
so yes, imho, high diff value DOES reduce profit. greatly. to the point of zero in some cases.

This is why MIddlecoin is better in this part, I wouldnt be surprised if this is the reason middlecoin is what it is and the way it is, without a front.. I am betting it would be more complicated to hack Middlecoin.... I mean how would a hacker change the payout addresses there, we all have our workers usernames as our BTC wallet addresses. I think this is one of the reasons middlecoin is what it is. The less there is up front the less there is for people to hack with.

There certainly are advantages to Middlecoin's method of operation.

That said, there are also advantages to Hashcows' method of operation. Some people, including myself, believe that VARDIFF is beneficial for low-performance machines. Additionally, Hashcows allows me to choose to keep altcoins at my discretion (even though I don't) and importantly can provide statistics for each machine, allowing at a glance to see how all my machines are doing, and breaking down rejected shares by machine, allowing troubleshooting and tweaking. Hashcows also allows a low-performance miner to take payouts every couple days or week (or longer, if you're stupid) to reduce the amount of dustiness in their wallet.

I am really happy things are working out.  I never needed the coins but i would like to at least login to my account and see how my machines have been doing since I haven't stopped mining on hashcows throughout this ordeal.  I am sure as soon as you guys can we will be able to login so thanks for the update and cant wait for it all to be up and running 100% again.  Great work you guys, much appreciated.

I entered my information into the cashout tool and it said an email was sent to me for further instructions. However, I have not received an email after about 20 minutes. I have checked my inbox and spam folders from all three of the only addresses I ever use, and they are the only ones I would have entered when registering....

I registered my hashcows account several months ago. Did this site always require a valid email address? I am just nervous that maybe the site didnt require an email address when I registered so the email won't make it to me without additional assistance from support.

I started using hashco.ws when it first started up and yes you did need an email address to sign up.

EDIT NOTE - I just checked my email folder and I dont have any signup info for hashco.ws.  Now I am not sure.  I have email info to all of the other pools that nearmiss setup before this multicoin pool.

I've used the withdrawal tool, and it worked exactly as advertised.

The email _did_ land in gmail's spam folder, one of the rare false positives I've seen on gmail.

I used the payout tool, and it says that my request has been queued, but 30 minutes passed and still nothing Sad
How long does it take usually the queue to be processed?

Payments may be a bit slow in coming at the start. We are keeping a short leash on things as we ramp back up.

Given the losses they've already sustained, I wouldn't be surprised if the queue receives review and approval from a human before being processed. I've gotten the impression the operators are in North America, so they're probably asleep right now.

I've been experiencing some issues with Hashcows over the night. Besides dropping the stratum connection once every 5 minutes, I don't seem to be making ANY coins on a majority of the rounds I'm participating in, even when I am submitting shares. I understand that some of the very, very short rounds might result in me making nothing (even though I'm averaging a share every 10-15 seconds, and the shortest rounds are 2 minutes). But I'm staring at 47 minute DOGE rounds that I would have been mining for the entirety of, and I'm not receiving even a single DOGE coin... What is happening?

(image snipped)

Can someone please explain why I'm only making profit on half of the rounds I'm mining for? Again, keep in mind my miner was running at full 295Khash/s for ALL of the above rounds overnight.

That's showing that the pool didn't find any blocks.  None of us get paid if the pool doesn't find any blocks.

Quick update,

- It seems some providers are blocking the e-mails we are sending out for whatever reason and most are going directly to Spam, please check!
- We have a few people who forgot their original password or have the incorrect wallet addresses so today I will work on getting all these issues resolved.
- Be patient with the withdrawals, we got hammered with withdrawal requests, you will be receiving your BTC soon Smiley
