There is a lot of front end data handling in SHA-256 that you skip for bitcoin proof of work.  Off the shelf modules are not very efficient.

FPGAMINER maintains a very nice set of open source VHDL libraries for bitcoin though.  I assume Ken mostly copy/pasted his work.

The easic press release was from their director of marketing.  I always found that suspicious.  Just a sales guy crowing about a deal.  Not an engineering guy.
So, they possibly could have seen this opportunity as a marketing move more so than anything else? "Lets do it, we will get a lot of great publicity even if it is total BS."

The only reason I could see the mods blocking Zumzeros IP and NOT VE OR CRUMBS would be that they could clearly see that zumzero was obviously part of the scam which could have been given away by his IP address..
Yeah because we all know that Theymos takes a hard stance against scammers on bitcointalk. (Bitcoin Savings and Trust, Labcoin, etc...)

I am guessing Crumbs got a perma-ban but he uses proxies to get past it whereas other people don't care that much.

He has stated before that he will not release any information about scammers "unless there is a warrant".  That doesn't mean that he won't take small actions in other forms, such as banning a scammer who is posing as a shareholder.  Maybe its his way of cleaning up some of this BS after labcoin robbed everyone blind.

Possibly.  Most companies are happy to take money from you.

People here read it as an endorsement from easic.  I read it as easic announcing they landed a bitcoin customer with the subtext of "Anybody else out there?"

As I have said before, easic trades off initial NRE and faster time to market for lower performance, lower silicon density, higher power consumption, and higher unit costs.  Since the time to market advantage has been lost somehow, easic is largely a write off going forward.  Ken's unit cost per Gh/s is probably higher than Cointerra's retail price.

This is possible, the efficiency of such an animal would be absolutely abysmal for a SA256 chip - in both speed and (functional) gate density. A slight step up from FPGA, with emphasis on "slight."  And sauce, pl0x.
According to the pdf I posted for the Nextreme-1, they stated that their chips had as many logic gates as competitor ASICs.

That defies the laws of math and physics.  You read something wrong.  Quote me the text, please, and link.

@Minerpart:  zumzero is YOU.  Sad but true.  Face the facts and deal with it.
It must have been comparing to an FPGA. I think all the comparisons in the PDF are against FPGAs.

Here is that PDF again...

How can that be true if I can still post you numb-skull.

I've been posting for four months at the exact same times as zumzero, we don't have the same IP at those times because we live 400miles apart. If he's banned I should be too then right?

My guess is that he was perhaps even part of the eASIC team, or even a slaughter himself. Why else would he have paid me 5BTC to post that garbage??

No-one had heard of you on here 2 weeks ago. Are you SERIOUS?

So Ken paid 4 thousand USD to a no-name with no rep to post a few short posts, with no pics or any evidence?

Couldn't he have logged in on a new account in 30mins and just posted that for free?

You are a laughing stock.

EDIT - contacting eASIC will achieve nothing, they will tell you nothing. But you could put the contract at risk. And for what?

An existing account with a credible post count can be a valuable commodity around here.
making a new account would not be believable.  and zumzero did send me pictures to post, but they looked too fake so i convinced him that was a bad idea

yes, it wasn't exactly the smartest marketing move

And this is 90nm nodes.  I'm sorry if my replies were nasty, i at first assumed you were just shilling.  Apologies.
I'm not a shill. I used my Bitcoins to buy shares in ActM but before I knew it it had dropped 50% and decided to ride it out (mistake), now I have no shares and none of the coins I bought with. I am half-way between calling this a total scam and hoping that there is at least a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. All my investments up to this point have been scams. I won't invest in another security. I will only be buying Bitcoins and trying to increase my holding through trades, which I have done decently at.

I dont believe this for a second. Give us the transaction ID for the BTC5 payment and let us do some taint analysis

4kUSD for a few little posts? Do you think people on here are that stupid??

So meanwhile Ken is denying to share ANY evidence of shipped product, he wont even comment on it - but he pays you 4k to say something different? How the hell would that make sense VE? Have you taken too many pills today?

...

I presume the same way that crumbs posts?

As far as simultaneous posts, that's a toughie...  I guess you're right, you can't possibly be him.

Got a reply from Ken, rathe vague but it states "Been working on our core business.  We should be trading soon." I guess this means that whatever they are doing is taking up too much time to focus on getting shares trading. Could be a very good thing or a very bad thing. Since I have no control over the situation I'll just relax until wednesday and think of it as a very good thing.
