Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

So basically,
1.) It allows you to store funds outside of a software wallet, so no one can every actually steal them
2.) It allows you to hand someone a piece of paper (or dispense it from an ATM, etc) so even without having a wallet they can acquire coins
anything else?
without

Tranz, can you give some info about NVC FastMiner, or a link to read about it? (found myself thinking that I follow HBN more often than mother-NVC )

(found myself thinking that I follow HBN more often than mother-NVC )Here was that commit for NVC. https://github.com/novacoin-project/novacoin/commit/2c8f88fc67af7916670ce0086e6a9078df8182f0I had to change it to work with my differences. NVC has great development. Good coin to grab some on the dips.

Mmm, that's great but maybe is it possible to explain in 2-3 words for us, non-programmers, what this feature is useful for?

Mmm, that's great but maybe is it possible to explain in 2-3 words for us, non-programmers, what this feature is useful for? Basically it allows for a more efficient staking process. The gui should not become unresponsive if you are trying to process a lot of separate blocks for stake.

Hi Tranz, thanks it worked! It took forever to re-download the blockchain and it takes a long time for the wallet to load but it loads fine now....thanks again. Is there any way to deal with the large size blockchain? I understand that this will be an issue for all coins at some point.
Good to hear. Yes the block chain will grow by about 1 - 2 gig each year. Some type of compression my help. Also as it gets much bigger we will likely offer a bootstrap download file to help speed up the process. Hi Tranz, bad news. The Assertion failed error is back, no idea why (see link below for my exact error). I can't open the wallet at all again. I'm not sure what to try next? If I send coins to a new wallet will that help? what else can i try? thanks https://i.imgur.com/hbnB1zz.jpgHi Choppy sorry about the issues. Do me a favor and PM me. I'd like to know what OS you are on and if anything odd has happen to your computer. I will give you further instructions then. Thanks.

Yes, it happens sometimes, but the good thing is that your coindays (or a stake weight) don't burn out during pos-orphane, your coins are still trying to make a pos-block after the orphane without loosing their weight. (in simple words )

I want to apologize to anyone mining on: hbn.jtcpools.org
Our cron got stock and that disabled payouts. We have fixed the issue, so everyone should be getting their coins today. Sorry!
