Well, I just bought one off the website.  I wanted to get my hands on one and the prices these things are going for on ebay are insane.

I was going to get 20 for my Anker hubs, but after researching it appears that each hub will only support up to 6?  Anyway, I got enough for 5 for each hub, just in case.  It seems like these will be profitable in the very long run...

Just be wary, these things are thirsty for power. Mine stopped working when I moved it around to a different USB outlet on my pc till I realised it was because it was sharing the same power line as the bpmc redfury I had. Putting them on separate usb hubs even directly on the pc made a difference...

They both just keep on hashing without any issues whatsoever. One is warm and 2.3GH, the other is 5.3GH, dangerously fucking hot and needs serious cooling.

EDIT: But it was an engineering sample and I have absolutely no idea how representative it will be of the released hardware!

Temperatures above 50 oC can feel painfull for humans,
but are ok for electronics:) Did you take the actual
temperature?

And a little fan can do a lot as I found out with my Block Erupters:

hissing sound, you know it's >= 100 oC:)

But then you lack the protective water film
between the hot surface and your finger. You
most likely will do this only once:)

I think I should comment on this because it is my way of cooling :-). I guess the attentive reader has noticed that it is also a dual Bitfury miner. And the ice cubes gets the temperature of device significantly down. You notice that the chip gets cold when you put your finger on it. So cooloing is working :-).

Isn't cooling the devices with ice and later water dangerous for the device?
