Hmm. I was thinking about such thing : if someone registered on freebitco (for example 2-3 years ago) and now he doesn't use it and even forgot about it and changed email and so on.. and if he wins a lottery! What would happen? This money just will be on his account forever?? Don't suggest variants like : he will get notification on email. phone etc. I just want to know what would happen in the case when he will never log in into his account. hmm..
This is pretty much me. I have a +4 year old account with probably around 100 referrals, but I can't access it because I don't know the login (btc address) And I didn't put the email in when I registered. I even know my ID, would even guess password in a few tries I'm sure, but that doesn't help me much. I *might* have this info on my old PC, but I just tried turning it on few days ago and BIOS doesn't recognize HDD so windows do not load. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I have old account with a lot referrals too, I remember my btc address and id number too but no password I don't remember how many referrals exactly but definitely some and possibly several hundreds, it is one of the first 25000 accounts so it may have so much money on it now.

If you still have the private key to that address you could prove ownership by signing a message. It might be worth sending a PM to Myfe and/or Wetsuit and seeing if you could get the account back. I don't know if they would do that but I can't see why they wouldn't.

Does anyone know when the Bitcoin Gold will be available for withdrawal and or exchange? I'm keeping my referrals updated on a daily basis as many of them are new to BTC.

It can't be made available yet as the developers are still privately mining there 100,000 coins before they make the blockchain public. This is on their website https://btcgpu.org/bitcoin-gold-community-response/When will this fork occur? The fork has already privately occurred at a point known only to the Bitcoin Gold development team. The Bitcoin Gold blockchain will be made publicly available when the Bitcoin blockchain reaches block number 491,407, which is currently estimated to occur on October 25, 2017.
This bit they refuted but did not say exactly when it will be available. I have heard a lot of speculation about November 1st. So it could happen quite soon but at the moment nobody can make a BTG transaction.

I do usually do that to recover old info, and they aren't so expensive

The price of Bitcoin Gold has quickly (in only 2 days) dropped from 0.09 BTC to almost 0.02 BTC and will most likely continue dropping as more and more people dump it. That is why we should not expect to receive a 10-15% bonus to our BTC holdings when exchanging the new fork coin to BTC as was the case with Bitcoin Cash. It will most likely be something like 1-2% this time.

I wasn't in any hurry really, just for the fact that it's bitcoin and the price goes up anyway... So later I find these old coins, the better

You wont burn your CPU mining monero, it's a slow algo and doesn't waste too much power, I use fanless minipcs to coin-hive on freebitco.in and they've never overheated.
And what about the laptop? I have a macbook pro (2010 or 2011 edition). It becomes hot and becomes very noisy when mining is 50% or more. So I try not to mine on it.. Several years ago it was burnt, now I'm trying not to overheat it Really? I have the same laptop (2011 edition) I didn't expect it may burn. I thought system will automatically switch off the processes that lead to overheating.

Yes, it seems down to me, too. Unfortunately this happens from time to time, almost once a month recently. I hope they fix it soon.
