I'm going to take  a stab at it saturday. It will not be the new GUI, and I'll have step by step notes on what I did (assuming I'm successful).

Very busy right now, sorry I can't be faster with this. As for a dev fund, Thundertoe is the dev, but I'd be happy to act as escrow. I've done it a few times before, for other people.

Cool. I'll watch this space for news. Thanks!

I don't feel the coin burned me.  Id was God/Satan.

I would like to combine and split my blocks into a few equal ones and get into spreading out my stake days, eventually leaving my wallet open all the time for network stability.  I am more into this as an "investment" than as a hobby so I will not stake for under 30% "for the team" or for the network yet.  I need to make up for some loss.  I don't give loyalty to anybody or anything unilaterally.

So... I've checked the "Display coin control features" box, but I don't see any such features and/or I don't know what I'm doing.  Are ther any docs for Coin Control.

I may be TEK's biggest cheerleader, and I agree with your sentiment. I was willing to take it to get the coin working, but I'll stake when diff is low.

As for coin control, that I can help you with.

First off, the coin control features are under "send coins"  Once you get there, hit the "coin control" button in the upper left. It'll open a new window with all the coin control stuff. Make sure it's in List Mode (it's obvious) and it will show you every block regardless of what address it was sent too. Along side each block is a checkbox. Those coins that you mark are the ones that will be sent.

If you want to spread them over a few days, you'll sacrifice a bit of coin age, as each send you make resets the coin age to zero. Not a big deal if you're thinking long term. If you have coins close to staking, I'd leave them alone, other than watching the diff before opening the wallet for staking. But the rest, start choosing blocks and sending the amount you want to stake per day, and send it to yourself. Keep doing that until you're set up the way you want to be. Let me know if you run into any problems. High POS coins have become my thing Tongue I've learned a lot.

Man!!!!  Who keeps dumping TEK and why?!?  Rent day is long gone as far as converting TEK to BTC to cash in hand goes.  Oh yeah, I know why;  because I just bought.  I should let everybody know when I'm going to buy crypto.  Y'all are guaranteed to get it real cheap right after I buy.
Damn. You must be my brother!

Hi again Thundertoe!!

Don't freak out!!!

I just really really needed some money.  I bought a used 2000 5 speed BMW (only cars I've owned are $300 and $1500) and forgot about that whole "registration thing".

Anyways,

1)  I got what I needed

2) Hopefully people who didn't have TEK got some (but of course, cheap) and now will show more interest since they are more involved.

I was just bored and wanted to see if TEK would still give me back a "hell yeah".

TEKcoin to tha MOOOOOOON!!!!

Suppose you can say I'm taking some for the team.  I leave the wallet open regardless of diff.  When it stakes it stakes and I'll recombine and move on... I'd like to have that happen automatically though... hint hint... Wink

This space not for rent...

It's kinda looking like you gave TEK the coup de grace.  Much must be bought to recover.  If I was looking at the charts and a place to park money, I wouldn't touch it.

Some lucky buyers got TEK as cheap as .00004350    and price recovered past .00013  quickly congrats to those who got into Tek at such a good price or made some good trades on the bounce. Volume is looking nice.

You may see the positive in this, but that sell was brutal. Hopefully that guy has exited his entire position and moved on.

Well, it does no good to focus on the negative what is done is done. It has been fairly predictable that sooner or later a big dumper sells down Tek very low in one shot. I was ready with very low buy orders waiting, gotta make the money where and when you can. This is likely to keep happening, situations occur and sometimes people are forced to liquidate on the spot for emergency funds. Each time Tek has a wide swing in price that is an opportunity presenting itself. A nice graph going straight to the moon is not likely, swings have been steady and wide with price, that can be used to your advantage if played right.

So how much did you raise? Grin

Taking the averages of high and low and multiplying it by volume on that bar (~8300TEK) and again by BTC price at the time on Bitstamp it looks like about $300.  And now he probably has to wait for a cheque in the mail.  All that damage for an old Bimmer?!?  That is about as short-sighted as it gets, not including the consequences.  Outsiders don't know his story. Epitome of a cheapskate.  If he's that hurting for cash, why's he buying a German import?  If it's in great shape then it must have been quite expensive.  If it was a good deal then it's probably trashed and he's gonna need a lot more money soon.  It wouldn't bother me so much if he did it on the 24th or something for rent.  Bahhh...  teenagers.

Oh well,  I'm in it for the long haul.  BTC was high, so was TEK when I bought.  This is my destiny.  Buy high, stash my bag in the back of the closet on the bottom of the unused-shoe's shelf.  Big picture:  a couple of grand or so is cheap tuition.  If I can't make it with that then elbow grease is the only way I'll make money.  Gotta find out someday, somehow.

It's happened before.  I just wish I was patient and confident enough to keep low orders parked for when it happens but I'm all in and I'm not putting another penny into crypto unless I win the lotto.  I don't buy tickets though so it isn't going to happen.

Low price presents a great entry opportunity for new users. Its a good time to market Tek and grow the community, some may have  been waiting for a lower entry price to try out minting TEK stake.

True, but a decent investor might look at the chart and see a downward momentum and would wait for a good rise.  As with stocks and commodities there is no top and there is no bottom.  Just when a stock hits a "real" bottom (the lowest price a stock can have on an exchange), it does a 100:1 consolidation.  Even crypto does it, like SaturnCoin.

I know PoS coins can be confusing enough as it is. I notice a trend of posts recently on many of the high stake coin threads, compare TEK payout rate to CAP, and then try to draw price conclusions.

Some posts tend to state something like this, "well cap pays 200% a year and now Tek is only paying near the same... and costs more?"  this logic cant always be true.. see cent and its history,  but anyways i digress. we should at least clear up the numbers a little to new people seeing these posts.

ok well 2 main differences come to mind.

Total minted, Cap has about 3x more minted now than TEK.

As far as i can tell PoS rates are not even close? If you compound your cap for a whole year you will get 200%..well less actually they are going down,

200% a year is compounded right?  Cap at 8.3% every 15 days year In the end, $100 has turned into $682.80.
You have made $582.80

Compound TEK at 30% for 1 year In the end, $100 has turned into $2329.81.
You have made $2229.81

check http://www.webmath.com/compinterest.html here are some screenshots if you dont want to play with the numbers

CAP

TEK

http://gyazo.com/d7a9e996b0d35e04824554feeb7af616

note these figures are based on apprx numbers for illustration of some major core differences between the 2 coins, they are very different beasts and i like them both. I think they both offer a greater opportunity for longer term wins than most other of non high pos cryptos. Good Luck and happy staking!

problem is you are assuming the price/TEK stays the same, this aint gonna happen. The price /TEK is gonna go down the more TEK are minted. No way is $100 going to be worth $2000+ after a year

you miss the point entirely, its a comparison to CAP, of course it assumes prices are stable, and history over the last year proves your theory of prices wrong.

Ok thats fine, i have around 20k TEK currently worth 2.3 bitcoins ($662 at top buy price), in 12 months time i should have around 466000 TEK coins with a 53.6 bitcoin value($15,437) Smiley sure hope so

how is the stake rate gonna taper down once large amounts of coins start staking?

Hey guys, two things to report, one good one not.

First, I had a tek block stake today that had just one coin in it. This was an experiment on my part, cuz I keep seeing people saying that you have to have hundreds of coins to even have a chance at staking. Nope. Took 7 days from maturity, staked at just over 39 percent. My wallet is on my other computer, so I don't have the exact number. Sorry about that, I'll update later.

The bad news, I have not had time to try to compile a windows wallet and write a guide. Not blowing anyone off on this, I just have a tremendous amount of paying work to do. I will get to it, hopefully in the next couple of days. My apologies, but I have to feed my family ahead of this.
