I dont know, poking around i see its looking like its generally having issues with other coins too. could try a pm to site op. It could be time to source a new richlist/explorer. If somebody wants to handle raising a bounty for it, (or a cheaper alternative) they charge 330$ for a year of richlist/explorer here http://cryptocoinexplorer.com/sponsor . I'm interested, want to know if there is open source code or do I got to re-invent the wheel. I already have code that parses the bitcoin blockchain that I wrote. No need for donations if I do it.

Since the web site doesnt list any valid tekcoin pools. Please note that I have one going at tekcoin.altcoinpool.us if anyone is interesting in mining.

My understanding of the orphaning process was that the shorter chain was to be cut off and the longer one then becoming the primary fork.
I just watched a reorganize disconnect 7 blocks and reconnect 2 as the primary chain. Can someone improve my understanding of this please

Amazingly enough, given my frequent befuddlement, yes, I can. Checkpointing. It connects to the best chain UP TO the last checkpoint. Your understanding is correct in the absence of checkpoints, but they can alter the outcome.

PoS difficulty : 0.00042372, down from 0.00274371 yesterday. really need .0000x to get in the 40% range, you can stop minting by keeping wallet offline or using reservebalance and setting it high enough. back up your wallet .dat before messing around.. actually back it up anyways for a safe copy "before" you need it.

I had been doing that ... Recently, I discovered my wallet.dat file had been corrupted for several months. It was deceiving because most blocks would stake fine but some just refused. Combining blocks just made things worse as I later discovered half my wallet had 0 confirms. Scary. Rescan/salvage commands just threw up errors. I didn't want to go back too far in the back ups for fear of losing staked coins. I fixed it by extracting the private keys, building a fresh, up-to-date wallet, and importing the keys. I had some high coin age and lots of immediate staking, so the diff jump lately may partially be my fault. Long story short: Do meticulous back ups, apply updates ASAP, and keep a close eye on your wallet. Sadly, it's not a game for technically timid or faint of heart, and I certainly understand peoples' desire to keep their coins online, trading risk for ease of use. I think it may take a Google, Apple or Paypal to bring crypto wallets to the mainsteam. Sad but true. /rant

With Cryptsy tekcoin wallet in maintenance and the other 3 exchanges having no tekcoin volume, where else is there to trade? The reason we should care is that If you or some new investor wanted to buy some tekcoin and send it to their wallet they can't with Cryptsy. I suggest sending a message to Cryptsy support. Maybe if they get a lot messages they will fix the problem.

what I do not understand, is how TEK get a so high valuation on critsy... if the volumes are so low !!!! Tek has been and still is relatively scarce with under 3.7 million total minted right now. I also think many of the Tek holders are going long term and will only sell some of the stakes they generate not the initial bought Tek. With such a small supply on the market it doesn't take much demand to increase price. Oh another difference from many other coins, Tek doesn't mint enough PoW daily to suppress the price. I think maximum success long term in this coin means buying more low, or holding and compounding when price drops. If you always sell 100% of your stakes, you gradually own less and less mining power. Its like buying an asic.. you cant just cash out and run 1 unit forever.. you need to reinvest in more power or get left behind.

I never said I was going to sell or buy, just that Cryptsy seems to be the best exchange for tekcoin, and that it needs to be fixed.
POS diff is increasing again 0.00065615, this time I'll wait for the diff to decrease.

The Six Million Dollar TEKcoin TEKcoin, cryptocurrency. A coin barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic coin. TEKcoin will be that coin. Better than it was before. Better, stronger, faster.

Still getting an awful lot of orphans. About 40% of the blocks my pool mines. Any cure for that or just live with it?

Autocheckpointing should help with orphans but it's not enabled yet because there are still too many old version clients in the network. Currently we are waiting for more people to upgrade to the latest version.
