hey,

any update on mining feature?

Yeah it's gone. Unfortunately, the malware services have started blocking any sites that contain it. They block the whole site, not just the mining.

Its not.  It isnt even possible to have that be provably fair and any claim as such is just a total lie because its missing the client seed.  You cant have provably fair without a client seed.  Besides,  that lottery is garbage anyway,  dont even bother trying to play it.  You will never win it.  You have about as much chance as winning the power ball which would provide you a way larger return.

Idk what a btc hash has to do with anything,  unless the seeds it uses are give  ahead of time and the 1st btc hash after a specified time is used.  I have not seen where any of those are provided and judging from theQuinN's snarky reply, they likely dont exist or he would have simply provided that link like any normal person would do.

We publish the number of the block we are going to use in advance. The hash of that block is the client seed. I know you have an extremely low intelligence level but please try to understand the basics before making a fool of yourself.

Does Powerball give tickets away and can you buy one for $0.0000613?

What does the cost have to do with anything?  One can buy as many tickets as they want in powerball. Just like with freebitco.  The CHances to win are very similar but the returns are vastly different.

The cheaper a ticket is,  the less chances you have because there is always someone richer than you buying more than you.  Whats your point.

The amount you win is proportional to the cost of the tickets if the chances are the same. You really are the dumbest to troll this thread yet.

Because the tickets are quite cheap.

One can buy as many tickets as they want in powerball. Just like with freebitco.  The CHances to win are very similar but the returns are vastly different.

Between this and an actual lottery, I think that's wrong. Usual lotteries have chances of something like 1 in 13 billion.

The cheaper a ticket is,  the less chances you have because there is always someone richer than you buying more than you.  Whats your point.
When you play a lottery every ticket is the same price. It's the quantity that changes.
There is no way to fix this site's lottery (unless you're considering taking over the bitcon network with a 99% hashrate or something that high - which would be needed to mine every potential block and use the one ending in the hash of the number you need to win). If you did this the 12.5BTC return every 10 minutes should be enough to appease you rather than fixing the odds of a lottery site to get your 1BTC.
Anyone buying 1 or 2 BTC worth of tickets are a bit stupid because they may as well just multiply with that 2BTC and get better odds from it.

Who cares if you publish the block number.  Where are they published and does it include the server seeds.  Thats what he is looking for.
They don't publish a block number the Bitcoin network does. To suggest they are messing up that means you have no faith in Bitcoin as a digital asset.

Actually, I didn't fully answer as I was waiting for the fool to come back after I already demolished the first half of his argument.

We publish on Twitter a file that contains the number of the block that the hash will provide the client seed. That file also includes the server seed and ticket list. That's everything you need to verify the result.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the server seed is also on display on the Provably Fair tab of the lotto page all week.

Is the CURRENT server seed.

Is there a record of every lottery winner's user id? I want to see how close I've ever come to winning anything.

Also is there a script avaliable for verifying it that gets released at the same time or do you assume users can write them (they're fairly easy to write but still)...

On the lottery page you can use the <OLDER and NEWER> buttons to see all the past results. Our @freebitco Twitter feed has all the files. You can use online tools like:

https://www.xorbin.com/tools/sha256-hash-calculator to calculate the hash
https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/number/hex-to-decimal.html to convert the string to decimal

Because the tickets are issued in user ID order it is the closest user ID to your own that is the closest you came to winning. Verifying will not give you more information than that. The file will show you how many tickets you were out as well as how many user IDs. It's easiest to view if you open as a CSV in a spreadsheet.

Good to know.  It's to bad that its broken and cant be fixed.  BTW, BTC block numbers are already generated,  there are 21million block numbers.  Just pick one,  they are in sequential order.  So yes,  I do expect to see a block number published somewhere (which is not well documented).  It should be placed on the site in a prominent area (along with server seed) with a link to twitter,  not hidden in some twitter file that no one is ever going to open or even knows exists.  I dont actually trust twitter timestamps anyway.  Never have,  never will because they are approximated, batched and have been manipulated in the past.  Twitter < BTC as far as timestamping goes.  A better solution would be to actually make a BTC transaction with the link to the file instead,  then link the transaction on the site.  No need to rely upon that twitter garbage.  One of the major advantages of BTC are the fact that it can be used for a RNG and a Timestamping tool.  This is a BTC geared site,  why is it using twitter for things that BTC is far superior at?  Makes no sense to me.

We use the 12th block mined after the lottery round closes. Although it is obviously possible to predict the 12th number in a sequential numbering system of +1 it is not possible to predict what block number will be the last one at a specific time.

We use Twitter to publish the file as it is a third party, Tweets are timestamped and you cannot edit a Tweet.

Anyone who reads the Provably Fair tab (that you obviously didn't) would know where to find it.

Have you finished making a fool of yourself yet? It's not broken, your comprehension is.

Err OK maybe your Enlgish didn't pick up on that so well.
"Fixed" is changing something that isn't broken but is made to favour a system you don't want it to.

Say you bet $1million on a horse race and I was a casino owner and the rate was 1-40 and the second horse had a rate of 1-5 and there was only $10000 on that horse in total. I may "fix" the state of the bet by paying the jockey to fall off it at a certain jump.

BTW, BTC block numbers are already generated,  there are 21million block numbers.
NO. They are not already assigned. There are NOT 21million.
There ARE 21 million Bitcoins, not 21 million Bitcoin Blocks.

There is a link LOOK at the site and you will see it in the lottery page.

I dont actually trust twitter timestamps anyway.  Never have,  never will because they are approximated, batched and have been manipulated in the past.
You don't need to trust twitter as a service or the timestamps that are added as they aren't what makes it provably fair. We don't wnat you to go back 120 lotteries and keep analysing when the results were published.

Twitter < BTC as far as timestamping goes.
I don't understand.

A better solution would be to actually make a BTC transaction with the link to the file instead,  then link the transaction on the site.  No need to rely upon that twitter garbage.
But then you wouldn't trust the blockchain or its timestamps.
And you'd say it's better to use a twitter site then publishing the data on the blockchain.
Also, you can't put a file on the blockchain as there's only 80 bytes you can write to per transaction. And that'd have gone down well a few months ago @TheQuin, you should really get wetsuit to add to the tremendous increase in the number of blockchain transactions, that would've been really useful.

One of the major advantages of BTC are the fact that it can be used for a RNG and a Timestamping tool.  This is a BTC geared site,  why is it using twitter for things that BTC is far superior at?  Makes no sense to me.
So now you know some sort of bewnefits of BTC? Even though you don't actually know how many Bitcoin blocks there are?

You don't need to trust twitter as a service or the timestamps that are added as they aren't what makes it provably fair. We don't wnat you to go back 120 lotteries and keep analysing when the results were published.

It's not just the timestamp the Tweet comes out before the block is mined, you can see that. He's really trying too hard to find a reason here because he was wrong about there not being a client seed, he was wrong about the server seed not being visible, and he embarrassed himself not knowing that wager is proportional to winnings with equal odds. So he wants us to forget all about that and argue some irrelevance about whether or not a Twitter timestamp might be a few seconds out.

the lottery's a little unfair. Since the lottery ticket does not have a unique identification number. you are using your account ID.  All calculations show that in the future, the first accounts will never win. When each lottery ticket will have its own ID then it will be the most honest lottery!!!
example! on Monday I bought a ticket with the number 120128, on Wednesday I bought a ticket with a number 50869753, on Friday I bought a ticket with a number 800675849.))))))))

No. That's a complete misunderstanding of random numbers. Every number is equally probable to be drawn the winner irrespective of it being low or high. Random ticket IDs would not change anything.

In round 156 a user of ID 316363 won 4th place in the lottery.
My UID is about 1400000 and I registered in 2015 (if I remember rightly).

I think there are probably a lot of people who either give up on the site or do like me and only come back now and again to go on it.

I think he may have gone, hopefully to build up his knowledge of Bitcoin.

What about the doge site? Any plans for that, are the two going to merge?

The plan is to merge... eventually after we work out how to do it. So the rebrand and adding other coins comes first then Doge later.

What do you mean about merging? Are you saying wetsuit is going to merge it with freebitco.in or creating a new site with new coin of course instead of staying with doge? And btw you just said about contest, what kind of contest is it like? Because I never heard about freebitco.in are doing contest, this must be the first time right?
