What about the doge site? Any plans for that, are the two going to merge?
The plan is to merge... eventually after we work out how to do it. So the rebrand and adding other coins comes first then Doge later. What do you mean about merging? Are you saying wetsuit is going to merge it with freebitco.in or creating a new site with new coin of course instead of staying with doge? And btw you just said about contest, what kind of contest is it like? Because I never heard about freebitco.in are doing contest, this must be the first time right? Seems interesting for the freebitco.in to launch a rare contest. I will follow on this one. I'm also excited to see what will be the contest... Now we have to wait few more days.

Freebitco.in will be relaunched as crypteer.com later this year. We're adding more coins and an exchange function. After that at some point we will merge Doge in. I'll make an announcement about the competition later today. (After I've had some breakfast.) IMPORTANTPeople who have been re-using passwords on multiple websites have been getting hacked since it seems like the databases of some other faucets have been compromised or the owner of those faucets decided to use the passwords that they had to compromise freebitco.in accounts. Like I have warned countless times before - Please do not re-use passwords on multiple websites and use a password manager!
If you use the same password on multiple websites, you will get hacked, it is only a matter of when. I have added a protection in the signup and change password functions to force users to create a secure password which should somewhat help in users not re-using their passwords. Login authorization emails which were previously being sent only for users who had a balance > $5 (because a lot of users were marking these emails as spam negatively impacting our email deliverability) has been enabled for all users now.
If you used the same password elsewhere change it now.

I cant enter to both page, free bitcoin and doge , the only one? The site, FreeBitco.in, works perfectly to me today. Although I'm not using Doge, I just tried to access the site a minute ago and it is also accessible. If you have an opportunity to use another browser, try that, it may help. What about the doge site? Any plans for that, are the two going to merge?

According to TheQuin's last post in this thread we have to wait not more than several hours for the announcement. Can't wait to see what it is, and maybe to take part in it. Check out this thread for details, guys, it may be interesting. Good luck to all the participants!

The phone number is only used for recovery. If you lost the 2FA key you can get an SMS text message code to log in with. Go to your profile page and there is a "2FA RECOVERY DETAILS" section and you can change the number there.

You're welcome. I'd advise you to keep some sort of backup of the secret key. I like to have all mine printed out and locked away.

Just to clarify, would a signed deposit address still work in this case if the 2fa key was lost the sim to a phone number (so you don't have to wait the 7 or so days to get control of the number again). I wouldn't trust printing out keys and storing them somewhere even if that place is locked. Although, if you stored the encrypted keys then it'd be a bit better -you can brute force it still without them being encrypted.
can we get a live chart for the contest and the amounts that people have wagered in total since the start of July (for when that comes) - not sure if this was already said.

can someone please explain how is the freebitco.in lottery fool proof?
Can you explain how we can predict the hash of a Bitcoin block that hasn't been mined yet? You can't predict the outcome of the hash, but as soon as it comes out, you can allot the winning tickets to your own accounts within a matter of second ones the block cokes out. As no one knows the "Ticket Number" which was alooted to him, the game can be easily riggged.

I'm not sure but I think these "Ticket Number" will be published along with the future bitcoin block number I will post back here when I found the references, but probably TheQuin keeps the info handy and can give you links and more details on it edit: found it, one page back We publish on Twitter a file that contains the number of the block that the hash will provide the client seed. That file also includes the server seed and ticket list. That's everything you need to verify the result.

What I am saying is that the ticket list can be easily manupulated by alloting the winning ticket to such an account that is either held by freebitco.in itself or is inactive since long time(there are thousands of such accounts at regular intervals). So even if they assort the userids in ascending order and give tickets accordingly, still they have scope left for increasing the number of tickets of their favoured userid to win the lottery.

So even if they assort the userids in ascending order and give tickets accordingly, still they have scope left for increasing the number of tickets of their favoured userid to win the lottery. Tickets are allotted before the bitcoin block is mined and this is timestamped on twitter. We cannot allot any tickets after the block is mined. We have explained all this in the provably fair box in the lottery page: HOW IS THE SYSTEM FAIR?The system described above that is used for picking the winners is provably fair because it has multiple safeguards in place to ensure that winners are picked randomly and fairly. - We provide a SHA256 hash of the server seed when a lottery round starts. If we change the server seed at any time, the SHA256 hash of the new seed will not match the hash we provided earlier. After a round has ended and we provide the server seed that will be used to pick winners, the hash of the seed we provide can be checked against the hash we provided originally and both should match.
- We use a future bitcoin block hash as the "client seed" ie. a seed that we do not know of. All bitcoin block hashes are unique and nobody knows what the block hash of a future block will be until the block has been mined.
- We use twitter to publish the future bitcoin block number, the list of users and their ticket numbers and the MD5 hash of the user list. It provides a timestamp to check if the block hash that we use is indeed in the future. Since tweets cannot be edited, only deleted - if we delete the tweet after the future block has been mined and publish a new one, it would be easy to catch us cheating by comparing the timestamp of the tweet and that of the bitcoin block. The timestamp of the tweet should always be lesser than the time timestamp of the bitcoin block whose hash is used as the client seed.
- We provide a MD5 hash of the text file containing the list of users and their ticket numbers. If even a single character in the text file is changed after the MD5 hash in the tweet is published, the MD5 hash of the edited file will not match the MD5 hash provided in the tweet.

The file lists the user IDs and the ticket numbers each one has. You can download a copy of it before the draw. So we don't have scope to change anything.

I would set the default withdrawal address on the profile page to one that you can sign a message from. Given that then yes we would be able to disable 2FA if requested. Backing up your 2FA keys is a personal choice. I use Winauth and that allows you to export the keys to an encrypted file (password or PGP). I keep a copy of that and a print out somewhere I consider being secure. Even with that file someone would still need my accounts email and password. I think there should be a leaderboard for the contest, at least that's what I suggested.
It's still being developed but yes there will be.

Freebitco.in will be relaunched as crypteer.com later this year. We're adding more coins and an exchange function. After that at some point we will merge Doge in. I'll make an announcement about the competition later today. (After I've had some breakfast.) Congrats to the competition and this is really big reward but I do not see that I can take any part of it because I do not wagered a lot like any big whale here. The rewards is really huge and this is the biggest prize ever that any site offer, congrats to your first competition again Btw about rebranding your domain to crypteer.com are you saying your free bit are going to be deleted? Because people tend to join your site to get some free bit and if they are lucky enough they may get your lottery

Try and find a whale and persuade them to use your referral link. Btw about rebranding your domain to crypteer.com are you saying your free bit are going to be deleted? Because people tend to join your site to get some free bit and if they are lucky enough they may get your lottery
The freebitco.in domain is registered until 2025 so it will just redirect to crypteer.com. (crypteer.com redirects to freebitco.in right now). All the old referral links will still work as well. the free rolls will still be there as well. We're just changing the name and adding new stuff.

Just a quick observation from me : This morning when I logged in for the first time, I saw the total tickets sold for the Lottery was about 800,000,000+ and just a few hours {2 hours} before the draw, it jumped up with 200,000,000 tickets. I will watch this more closely from now on, to see when the most tickets are bought. It average about 100,000,000 tickets per day. Freebitco.in has some great Website Stats, but I do not see any stats on the Lottery. Last Weeks total tickets for the draw was 1,000,923,029 and we are already at 1,028,958,943 tickets with 1hour 30min to go to the draw. Last Week 10.00923029 BTC was spend on Lottery tickets and a total of 2.65515091 BTC was paid out to Lottery Winners. {Only 1/3 of the money goes towards lottery prizes}

So 10.00923029 BTC was not spent on the lottery. We actually run it at a loss to attract people to the site. This week we put in a restriction on redeeming reward points for the top levels of Free BTC bonus on accounts that don't wager or wager very little. It looks like lots of accounts have redeemed for 100 lottery tickets per free roll instead.
