I also thinking about it and yes for me it is possible to happened . Once there is a coin invented that has a potential to replace bitcoin then it will be pretty awesome . What I mean if that happened we are the one who will have it and get it with a small price then hold for long time.

I believe crypto is not going away but it looks like in the near future bitcoin is going to be a afterthought.   What coins do you think have a chance at replacing it and being adopted for use?

Well, while the tech is still in early stages and it definitely will keep developing, I think BTC has played its role as the foundation and pioneer of this blockchain.
In my opinion, I did not see that BTC will disappearing, but some other up to date tech in the future to replace Bitcoin? sure there will be, just like improvements in trading system since the primitive ages. When it happens, BTC and cryptocurrency will still be there, like our current currency, watching the new tech being accepted.

There will maybe an upgrade of the system of bitcoin brought by the  enhancement of technology but bitcoin will remain as it is,when there's an upgrade,it does'nt mean that this btc will disappear,it will just rise into much higher value and quality services,so for me,I think that it is not about replacement but rather its more strenght of btc soon, more investor and investment to come and more excitements awaits us,keep the faith.

Smart contract platforms such as Ethereum (ETH) and NEO actually solve a real-world problem, by making existing systems better. For instance, through the trustless nature of smart contracts, processes such as voting and legal contracts between individuals suddenly become highly efficient and transparent processes.

I think barely possible that some coin will replace Bitcoin. It's a standard for all cryptocurrency.

In crypto nothing is impossible, however replacing Bitcoin is not easy at all, maybe a big company introduce their own coin like Google or Amazon and it can reach near to bitcoin price.

I know that there are some altcoins that are much better than bitcoin but bitcoin represents the cryptoworld so nothing can replace its spot on the top. Maybe its value will get lower but it will be the most used crypto for sure in the future.

all types of crypto currency have the same opportunity to replace bitcoin positions. coins like ethereum, NEO, Monero and others can even replace bitcoin positions. but maybe not in a short time

Bitcoin isn't going to become an afterthought.

It is the first crypto and as such, it has a lot of reputation and trust in the community. Just like gold and silver, they will forever hold value intrinsically because people trust it. Bitcoin doesn't need to have crazy algorithms or smart contracts to be successful. It's a simple currency and it aims to solve what is immediately needed, not some complicated stuff that is only used for speculation.

There will be no replacement for bitcoin, at least it's not out yet. All the bitcoin forks are worthless imo. Altcoins right now will only compete with other alts, not BTC itself.

I believed the next bitcoin will be the coin of ethereum and for sure after few years it will become very high the price.
So much better if you buy more ethereum and hold it for few years and for sure you will make a lot of money for sure. Because I see in the ethereum coin that they are qualify to be next bitcoin . But we don't know what really happen what is the next bitcoin but I hope the coin who become number 1 become very high the price...

I think that in the next few years there will be no altcoin that can replace bitcoin. bitcoin is king of all altcocin, if it dies all altcoin will die, the cryptocurrency market will collapse. However, if anyone asks me whether altcoin has the capacity to be alongside the bitcoin then I'm sure it will be ethereum. If Ethereum grows stronger over the next few years ethereum prices will rise, and be able to beat bitcoin.

While there is bitcoin, he will remain on the first place in the list. Altkoins are too weak to take first place

Nothing can replace btc. Other coins will remain alternative coins. I don't think the founder of btc would let it die. Instead more developments would soon be done with it to make attract more investors and users of btc. Market and community would increase worldwide.

There's a debate on what coin is or are going to replace Bitcoin , people consider ethereum, some a Bitcoin fork others new coins and others are still waiting what's coin is going to replace Bitcoin but I consider this as healthy competition and will greatly benefit all holders.

I do not think any Altcoin is going to replace BTC. The price drop is just a phenomenon that happens in every market. BTC will bounce back very soon to newer heights.

The most imposibility to replace bitcoin is ethereum, but it will need a long time and imposible. I see ethereum with the project is very good and very potential, one of them fitur that make me believe will replace bitcoin is ethereum is bridge to made a new coin. There's a lot new altcoin who have base on ethereum. Simply, if you want to invested in altcoin, you must buy ethereum first and with ethereum you can buy altcoin do you want. Whereas now more and more pupping up new altcoin made, and ethereum will the first way to buy the token.
