I'd say that trust no-one with anything. Everyone can stab you in the back. In real life too. Always keepo your eyes open for warning signs. Never ignore them.

Raspberry pi base? Open source? I know the peeps here will rake your idea over the coals in terms of security model and won't trust anything not opn-src.

I think there should be a way to instantly disable it irreversibly, should a thief demand it from you, in a way that is robustly assured. Anyway, that device is sorely needed, so I wish you good luck! Get your account out of newbie and let's see some details Maybe you can get peeps to invest come coin in it.

Unfortunately, raspberry PI is out, for my idea, because I'd like the device to connect to your computer as a USB peripheral, and the PI can't do that. I'm thinking about doing a kickstarter (or similar) and developing the whole thing as an open source project.

I agree with trusting no one, not even computers. In fact, I have all my bitcoins in a paper wallet.
