Can someone with good english skills please contact https://www.atomic-trade.com/ and ask them if they can add NXT?

I already have and they told me they wanted us to pay to integrate it into his system. If we would do that then he would add it.

wow. Why do exchanges do that these days?

I guess if they don't want our sweet trading fees, so be it for now!

Atomic-trade looks like they run a tight ship.  With the GoxStampBTCe debacle,  a United States based AML and KYC compliant crypto exchange would provide a great avenue for Americans to buy NXT almost directly from their bank accounts.
At this moment, there are delays at cashintocoins, bit stamp, box, and BTCe.  Americans wanting to buy BTC, then NXT have to use localbitcoins.com then https://www.bter.com or dgex.com.

Considering the bottleneck in available methods to buy bit coin at this moment, I think investing in assistance to atomic-trade integrating NXT into its exchange would be wise.  I don't think this assistance should be viewed as a bribe.  Atomic-trade is KYC and AML compliant after all and they would never accept a bribe.

Think.  One less step for millions of potential nxters in the USA to acquire NXT WITHOUT ever buying and selling BITCOIN.

Keep It Simple.

Thinking out loud here -- excuse the smoke.

I'm not sure if James (or was it Ricky?) that had a smallish bounty for the best 5 ideas to make money with Nxt (I'm probably wildly misremembering this).

Damelon and I had a quick casual chat over at reddit that got me thinking. He was discussing how mining in EVE is similar to forging NXT in that they're FUN. Having mined a lot in EVE, I agree and see the overlap.

What if we had an old-school style MUD plugged into the AE? It may be crude enough where it would have to be turn-based (like the old play by mail games). But holy !@!$ -- a persistent, online world, sitting atop the blockchain. WITH MICROTRANSACTIONS.

I'm such a geek that the very first thing I thought of when the AE was described here months ago was WoW's auction house and EVE's market.

A simple, online, text-based MMORPG, using NXT as in-game 'gold'. Could definitely get users involved who don't have the technical know-how for coding but have a passion for gaming and design.

This would have to start off small (a single room Inn) and expand to a village, to a countryside, to a nation, continent, etc.

2016, our own little user-generated online world? Would you pay 3 NXT for a +5 Vorpal Sword that a user found in the depths of a dungeon and puts it up for auction?
Cool idea! Hunter coin has a primitive game that you play to get coins, but a more elaborate game would be great.
You can get a dozen Vorpal Swords!!

The problem right now is the 1 NXT cost per AM, so practically speaking we need to have a low cost communication method for most of the game (or anything), with just a few things that end up generating an AM. I ran into this issue with nodecoin, I was originally going to have the PoW reports come in via AM, but realized it is cost prohibitive.

Nxtopia is just a working title. I'm off for a little bit to go pick up my fiancé, but hopefully there will be other enthusiastic gamers here so we can start bringing a manageable shape to this idea.
I think this is a great idea and would like to start a directed bounty fund for it. I will start with 5000 NXT bounty for a working game. I hope others will also support this. In game currency is very valuable to the gamers and with NXT as the in game currency and millions upon millions of gamers, well that is a good combination.

It also gives a direct use scenario for NXT.

Very good idea! Just need to refine it more. I bet once it has a monetization plan, you will find NXT investors to fund the development.

I agree, I doubt few would disagree.  So we feel them out and see how much "assistance" they need.  Ill volunteer as much time as they need for NRS integration into their system.  i have tons of free time during day/night

DGEX Private placement for selected investors has commenced.

This may have an effect on the NXT exchange rate in the days ahead.

Public offering for the general public will be available from March 3rd onwards, before which more information will be furnished.

Cross posted from marketing thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412243.new#new

Huge Marketing Opportunity

Great job Salsacz and the rest of the Berlin crew!  NiftyNikel will be contacting you today to talk a bit about our charity drive we're about to start for SongsofLove. Our marketing group, CoinTropolis, will start the party off by donating 10k Nxt. I've worked with the foundation director before... they are completely behind it.

Not only does giving back feel good, it gives us a story worth printing with the 200+ writers we have in our media list.

OK, I've just had the time to take a look at the website for SongsOfLove.
http://www.songsoflove.org/

Hmmmm.....I'm going to sound like the Grinch who stole Christmas here, but I am not on board with this. At all....

I admire SongsofLoves apparent aim;  to bring some happiness to kids in hospital.
However, I think that this charity is not a good fit for NXT.
They appear to be offering the same deal to every crypto, so I am sure that the kids will get enough personalised songs to get them thru their illness, even if NXT doesn't get involved.

Sorry for being a grouch, but my vote is no.

Hi John Beltzer, founder and president of Songs of Love here. Just wanted to address your concern about us having other cryptocurrencies on our site. We are simply just trying to expand out funding resources and it's about trying to help as many kids as possible. We used to help 3,000 children a year before the economy crashed and we saw this as a way of trying to get funding from other innovative sources. When you state that kids will get enough personalised songs to get them through their illness that is simply not the case. Sadly there are so many kids who are diagnosed with serious illness so there is always need for more funding so we can hope to reach as many kids as possible. Nxt just happend to be clever enough to embrace us more fully and we are grateful for that and in the end there will be more publicity around Nxt than the other cryptocurrencies we accept. In fact we have even offered to make Nxt the presenting sponsor on what will effectively be the first ever children's charity fundraiser accepting crytocurrency at our Los Angeles event on March 8. Event page is at www.songsoflove.org/LA. We have some pretty cool acts one of which is Amandal Stenberg "Rue" from Hunger Games. Once we reach the 10K mark and we receive the donation we will make Nxt the presenting sponsor for the event. I feel Nxt and Songs of Love is a perfect fit as we embark a most amazing journey of love together.

Mises_77 Thanks for taking the initiative to contact atomic-trade and report back to this thread.  Opticalcarrier thanks for volunteering your time to integrate NXT NRS with atomic-trade.

Eventually NXT will have a service like localbitcoins for fiat exchange and/or trusted gateways will be established within the NXT Asset Exchange System.  At this moment Chinese citizens can buy NXT directly through https://www.bter.com exchange, but American citizens are still without a means to directly purchase NXT without the need to acquire BTC first.

Fantastic work all, keep up the great work and HODL on!

Short calculation: We need 10,000 NXT to buy 20,000 VOTES @ https://www.mintpal.com/voting if we sell the NXT @ 0,0001 BTC

what a waste of money

maybe it is a stupid question, but do you think something like this is possible?

instead of liking on facebook one could tip - if i remember correctly doge is trying to build something like that. there is a strong incentive for users to IMMEDIATELY adopt, because easily it brings (even if tiny) money

Sounds like Flattr: http://flattr.com/

...NXT is a bloody good crypto with an amazing community, and I don't think that we need to buy our way in to exchanges. They will make enough money on NXT trades over the next few years to make it wrth their while.

James

Salsa, James -- thank you for the huntercoin tip!

With our community, and the AE, I have no doubt at all that a Nxt-based MMORPG will be a 'massive' 'game' changer (did you see what I did there?)

James, I have limited funds but I will match 10% of your bounty and put up 500 NXT. Does it go to the community fund address (13776816462073143763)?

Will get caught up on the last two pages and start coalescing everything going on in my noggin.

EvilDave -- yes, my gaming time has gone to *0* since Nxt.
