Here's a better idea.. Implement a script that user has to type out the script, and it will produce the number, then you put that number into the captcha, and it should approved. It's the same concept as Arch Linux forums. Scroll down to bottom page. https://bbs.archlinux.org/register.phpI'm not sure that users with IQ < 160 will be able to connect to the network. Cough Cough... that sounds like me lol

...HOST_WEIGHT - "weight" of the host, u can have a lot of hosts marked with the same account, weight defines what part of the balance will be used (weight/Sum_of_all_weights). If u have only 1 node then it will use 100% of the balance can you expound on this section? I dont quite get the (weight/Sum_of_all_weights) thing, it seems a bit circular. If we only had 1 running client, and wanted to use its full balance, would we use 100 for the weight field? Im going to make a sticky post in the nextcoin.org with more details on how to use this feature.

nxt.airdns.org got stuck with the above NullPointerException which prevented the blockchain from loading. Copying over the .bak files didn't help, had to get all .nxt files from another machine.

NXT fell down - thanks to developer burn in hell It wasn't just the developer statment: http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=2000&tra=536189619322400724Every price drop happened this week after this guy sent 10M to the exchange. Today I watched it happen. Just after nxt arrived (I myself had incoming transaction, so I know when it got to the exchange), "someone" started to post lower and lower big sell orders, undercutting everyone, even himself. Also, at the same time "someone" bought up almost every sizeable buy order, down to 0.00000450. Even some small ones just for giggles. This account sent around 40M to the exchange so far.

His disappearance and making it look like a scam was part of the agreement too?
Now, reading that he was going to follow Satoshi's footsteps, I think he was planning to disappear. Anyway, "look like a scam" =/= "is scam". I agree. I just say that due to this behaviour I missed my chance to become a stakeholder. And it's sad, cause I really like NXT. EDIT: Hope he gives us another chance How about if you, and all big shareholders perform another round of re-sharing NXT to all of us in exchange for BTC? More crowd - more spread - more attribute - more success That's a great idea. This has been said before, but I think the initial, single offering has hurt NXT significantly. The community is good, but it will be interesting to see how the aftermath of the recent drama plays out. I agree that the early stakeholders should be rewarded for the risk they took, but I think, at this point, their reward is disproportionate to their risk. I think a better solution would have been to have funding rounds instead of a single buy-in. A funding rounds approach would be similar to how startups get money from VCs (e.g. Series A, Series B, etc.). Each subsequent round could raise more money with a lower payout, but really help to get people involved.

I think it is premature to be talking about radical action. I'm also not a fan of diluting the founders equity without their permission. We could start by just answering these questions and seeing where we're at:
1. What does this project need technically? 2. Who can do these things? 3. How much NXT would they want to participate? 4. What can be done with bounties? 5. How much NXT is needed for bounties? 6. Does the project need other paid employees for support, forums, pr, etc.. 7. How much NXT is needed for these employees?
I think we should answer these basic questions and make a proposal to the founders for funding. Then we will know where this is going.

Do I have to leave the client open in order to mine coins? No. You have to leave your account "unlocked" in order for your address to be active, but you do not have to leave your browser window open.
What "unlocked" means? Can i close browser and terminal?

Close the browser without clicking the lock icon to lock your account. This leaves it unlocked. The terminal needs to stay open, this is your "client".

It looks like a higher percentage of the network is forging and securing the blockchain. The Nxt block explorer shows the "Avg. Target" for the day is 88.55%. Yesterday, it was above 1000%. What is the mathematical function to figure out the percentage of stake forging?

No, that's not it. I can start from genesis block or the files included with latest release, will still run into this problem when/if it "catches up..." the second time after the initial block download.
Try https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/67242472/peers.nxt, it contains marked peers. That seems to have fixed it. I will leave it running for now and report back if it happens again. Seems the moment I generate an incorrect block (not sure why it's doing that, btw) I have to "catching up..." shortly after, which then causes my blockchain to freeze. My latest block is 14514 at 17:22:55, so ~4 minutes after I got the first incorrect block message my blockchain hangs (file size not increasing). EDIT: Restarting client works. EDIT2: Incorrect block seems to be a coincidence, my blockchain just hung again, but the client did not report any errors.
