Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Time will tell...
For now time tells that the first BCNext network code was wrong. And CFB decision to use Jetty again was wrong. Whats next?  Wink

for sure, that you are telling us more stuff like this... Grin

Setting up a node on a VPS.
2 GB RAM
2 Core
8000 GB bandwith
1 Gbps DDoS protection

Two questions about hallmark:
1. What weight should I use? The amount of Nxt I have?
2. Do I need to generate hallmark on vps, or can I generate it elsewere, and just copy the web.xml to the VPS?

... and the more weight your hallmark is, the better Smiley
- no, Hallmark is irrelevant to current DDos:

Ddos is incoming requests, push and pull r for outcoming ones. Also it targets Jetty core, not Nxt servlet.

http://www.hetzner.de/en/  check servers here...and tell me which would be perfect I will order it and then  need someone to make a node on it..

If want to run a hallmarked node, get anything over 1 GB, the more GB RAM you can afford, and the more weight your hallmark is, the better Smiley
If it's non-hallmarked, 512-1024 mb RAM vps could do, 1 Gb is still better.
OS debian 7 or centos 6, 64-bit.

is this one ok?
http://www.hetzner.de/en/hosting/produkte_vserver/vq19
it will be a temporary server, since i do believe centralization is not a way,and just temporary its ok... until the devs wil figure something...
PS: do you have an jabber id ? connect with me , sent you PM

More weight = more users = more RAM is better, ddos or not. I meant to get as much RAM as one can afford for a bigger weight value.

I accept your comments only if you will be willing to continue to participate in the discussion once/if things turn out the way you are NOT expecting today for NXT.  So... do I have your word on it?
What do you mean by "accept comments"? They are as they are, no need to accept them. And of course as >1M genesis block stakeholder i will "continue to participate in the discussion" whatever happens  Cheesy

Just seen this and read on the major fork.

We have acknowledged confirmed transactions recently (past 12 hours) according to our current chain. I am supposing the longest chain always wins so we should be good.

What actions do you recommend for a major payment operator like us at this phase?
