Just seen this and read on the major fork.

We have acknowledged confirmed transactions recently (past 12 hours) according to our current chain. I am supposing the longest chain always wins so we should be good.

What actions do you recommend for a major payment operator like us at this phase?

Follow my advice to send transactions with high deadline and reboradcast them if not confirmed. Then check it again in 720 blocks.

Still stuck at 22680 (688%) - have restarted a few times - a little frustrating not to see any new blocks for so long. Sad

With CIYAM anyone can create 100% generated C++ web applications in literally minutes.

CfB is my VPS working?
I can send you funds to add 5 more if you can or anyone else who offers!

Hi!
If you still need I can help you to add VPS.

I would also invest in a VPS if someone would help me where to do it and how to configure it to support Nxt

I want to remind u that max depth of chain reorg is 720 blocks. If ur recent block is less than 22500 then use https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/67242472/nxtfiles.zip

Good, but we are also receiving NXT deposits that we credit and release for trading somewhere after 10 confirmations.

If those are removed from the blockchain we're in deep s***

Thus my inquiry about the longest blockchain.

Well don't do it. Better to wait for 720 when network is under attack.

What vps host are you guys using?

they also have dedicated server for good price and the connection is great (located in Strassbourg).

http://www.server4you.net/

Now those are some low priced servers... keep them coming!!!    Grin

Also, please note if you have used the service you are recommending, so that we skip the whole reliability test phase.

I use it for several month.
Dedicated server (Debian), running 24/7 with high load.
ping is 30ms average.

I'd like to thank ZjP ( nxt: 6481558415262535339 ) and j0b ( nxt: 13570469120032392161 ).  They have been helping out quite a bit in the #nxtalk channel on FreeNode and have been analyzing the attack in hopes of figuring out a way to prevent one later.

They deserve a Nxt donation.

It will always be under attack.

Edit: The exchange could accept only deposits with deadline set to 32767 and rebroadcast transactions.

It does not seem to be under attack any more. How do we know it is under attack?

What are the grounds for blockchain reorg, does the longest chain not always win?

No, why, are we?

It might take so long from us but that's nowhere a rule, should it be?

what version is best now, 0.4.3e?

0.4.0 or 0.4.3e. 0.4.2 has CORS enabled and subject to attack from millions of innocent Internet surfers.
- I think we must test thoroughly every new version on test net (including the simulation of zombie attack) before publishing it.  I am intentionally bought separate VPS for this. I had installed v.0.4.1e, but without long testing it becomes 0.4.2 ...

May be we all need to install 0.4.0 ?  Could you re-publish it ?

Longest chain always wins, but if a node on a branch with 720+ blocks it can't choose legit chain without manual work.

I recall there was a message that deposits must be with 24h deadline.

So... should one go with higher RAM even if that means that they will have to opt for AMD vs. Xeon?

yeah go for more RAM option.
