I'm trying to figure out if my private key can be stolen after I unlock my account.

If you leave the account unlocked do you mean?

Yes, as is required for forging.

I would lean towards no, that they would probably have to have a key logger or something like that on the machine.

And if the Nxt server is running on a remote VPS, I would think they would have to intercept the passphrase another way.  I'm not sure what that way would be but I think it would be possible if the system were compromised *before* the passphrase was entered.  What about after?

Even if you unlock the account, close the browser and reopen it, it require you to re-enter the pass phrase again. I assume to prevent someone from doing what you are suggesting, just opening the browser and transferring NXT out of your account.

I just noticed that my public node was down several hours ago, and got message from the error file: "There is insufficient memory for the Java Runtime Environment to continue."

The server has 2CPU, 2G RAM.

After all the public nodes just having been set up, I still went off to a short blockchain even when I started from scratch. I used client 0.4.0
Really hope for a new update tomorrow from BCNext and Cfb.

Hey i'm setting up these VPS at digitalocean, got 5 now and it says I've reached my droplet limit. I filed a ticket to get it lifted this evening

Any suggestions on other good VPS providers?

ALSO the VPS are getting hammered hard with ddos, one has 760 connections and over 700 of those are 0 weighted

Just place a bid and wait. Or byte the bullet and hit asks. I'm kinda thinking we'll see at least one more exchange after 3rd Jan. Someone sure noticed there's 500 BTC daily volume at dgex.

I know DDOSers are being squashed, but can someone answer my question about aliases?
Are they done?
Are they still able to be made? I made one last night, it was confirmed in my transactions,
I believe my blockchain is updated now.. and now it's gone, and when i try to search for it under.
