You need a really secure rpc password for it to allow it.
Thanks that was it. I guess it needed to be really, really, really, really secure. I had a very secure password in there, but it must check on a specific length.

wallet ver 1.5 won't work for solo mining setup. when initiating it pops an error that when -server option is selected you must enter a username and pw bla bla.. everything is setup as normal with same conf file as in ver 1.41 and correct shortcut entries for the correct dir.. but wallet won't open - it shuts down.. I suspect the dev has coded it for something regarding the user and pw format to be some minimum criteria? if so what are those criterias?

Just go to your drive:/Users/YourUsername/AppData/Roaming/ find dogecoin folder open the config there and remove the server option. Then it should start properly. Otherwise having weak password and server enabled leaves your dogecoin client avaliable for full control through RPC Api. How much megahashes do you use for solomining btw?

Probably , ....sucks , probably. But with the recent wave of newbies claimed to have been robbed just to get some sympathy and free doge .. I find it harder and harder to believe those stories. Im not a newbie i have dedicated money into my setup and have been mining since late 2013, its annoying to think you would believe im lying when i have lost a full days worth of coins, i do pay a fucken power bill. i am not happy is there any explanation for this how can this happen ? If you're using windows , lots of explanations. How about you give some info what wallet/sys you're using? Windows 8.1 I just upgraded to Doge QT 1.5 last night after the block reindex i sent my wallet from my pool all coins for that day. around 1am then instead of waiting for it to confirm i went to sleep. Woke up early like 3 hrs ago and only turned my pc on now. Open doge QT and it says 0.0 balance but the strange part is, it looks to have been sent from my wallet while my PC was off . =/ How. I've lost almost 40,000 worth of coins. -OK so if i add encryption it should be ok ? Encryption is a must. Also you'll need a full system scan before using you're computer again. Also all your addresses are compromised so forget about them. And , if you can't switch from windows , and you don't have another computer , think about getting a wmware wks only for this purpose. Fk. I think my PC should be fine, might of been because my wallet was backed on dropbox =/ ah what an idiot . doge was a joke coin and worth nothing so it was more a thrill when i first started and didn't see a need for encrypting a wallet worth nothing ... Ill scan my pc see what happens. so your saying Make all new addresses and update all my pools etc and forget about my "hacked" address ? what about getting back my doge =/ thats gone .. for good http://bitinfocharts.com/dogecoin/address/DLY96EcXxg7go3apXvHitGPuY792mVGV1Sclearly shows me receiving the coins from my pool and then this morning them automatically being sent somewhere else. they where in my wallet last night. If the thief got access to your address , he will have access to it forever. You can't change the private key for it , you can't protect that address anymore no matter what you try. About getting the coins back.... they are gone. 0.000001% chance the thief might get drunk or have a guilty conscience trance and send them back. So, i completed a few scans and it looks clean, no key loggers nothing, cgminer came up but thats known.. It looks like my dropbox idea wasn't the greatest. Basically after this next scan is done, i should add encryption (done) and make a new address, update my pools and i should be ok ? Correct If I were you I'd format the computer and start again, at the minimum. use a differant pc for your wallet or use VmWare/Windows Virtual PC for your wallet or better linux live cd like ubuntu

His P+D to himself if your to believe the article above.

Impressing. 1 billion = ~2.5% of the coin's total supply. No wonder people will spend their time in the freenode chat room.

I have now gone back to ver 1.41 until this bug will be sorted out..

I have now gone back to ver 1.41 until this bug will be sorted out.. OK if the developer of version 1.50 see this - my suspicion about the criteria for password is correct..! the wallet is coded so that it will not accept a rpcpassword length too short or complex. I entered a very long password with different letters/digits and the wallet opened - with the -server option.. my request is that the developer must change that coding and allow password at our own discretion, which has always been the case. some want short pw some like long ones. that must be a free choice.. a complex pw is absolutely not an issue for solo mining..

Do you think the block halving next month is really going to make a difference? there is soooooo much DOGE out there it just might send the miners off to the next hot coin. my guess is the price will rise as the date approaches and then a very real drop..you always sell on the good news ;-)

I think the reality will be somewhere between the 2 with doge hitting maybe 220-240 again and net hash back down to 40-50Ghash but will see. Biggest problem right now is still accessibility via fiat imo. Its all well and good getting these thousands of new users in play, but if theyre only receiving Doge via a tip of 100 here and there it really means very little. We need them laying down $10 - $100 each and having a proper valued interest in it rather than a passive one to keep momentum.
