Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

maybe build with UPNP support next time?

these kind of coins (like dtc) are made to make profit to owners and developers, who know how to write the miner,
and they're only public that miner/pool after diff are on the moon  Angry

So after being told that the full block rewards would be 48 hours after launch am I right in thinking that they were actually switched on at an arbitrary time yesterday, contrary to that promise?

So far from what FreeTrade mentioned, the original code at launch in the wallet was left at 24hrs (block 240) for full block rewards instead of the 48hrs as planned. So some error in coding.

Block reward of 616.00 MMC? Is this a serious bug? Embarrassed

Block #380
http://www.chainbrowser.com/memorycoin/block/0000b7f077c2689dd9107cf31f20e31ff682d07dfb150e7ee387331f51c84545/

Transactions in the block says mined block reward of total: 1232.00040000 MMC, which breaks the rule I think.

Is this a problem?

If you look carefully, the mined block reward is still 280MMC, 56MMC each is awarded to the voted ceo, cto, cso, cha, cmo, cno for "services" rendered to memorycoin.

Thanks, that makes sense. I thought it was a hacker's act. I'm relieved. Smiley

If you look carefully you will see that reward was come two time :-)

Under details block rewards > 616.00 MMC, Total Transaction Amount > 441.78913447 MMC, Total Output > 1057.78933447 MMC. Seems right to me. Probably a display error in the details for Transactions in this block.

Looks like a bug in the block explorer to me. Snard?

Actually managed to compile this one with UPNP, but haven't confirmed if it is working yet.

Just to complain a little, been mining for 42hrs since launch with 2 PCs @ 4.2hpm and 3.8hpm, haven't got a single block. This is really a badass coin.

On the other hand, I've mined 2 blocks on my laptop (2.2-2.5 h/m).

Looks like a block explorer bug too - think every transaction in that block was duplicated in the Block Explorer database. The sums don't add up on it.

Think I'll give up with this one. Everything about it seems dodgy sadly...the massive pre- mine making it so hard to get a block despite this being a 'new' coin, the full block rewards coming 24h earlier than announced, and the miner on Linux only seems to work about half the time and struggles to connect for the rest. A lot of effort and computer time for little or no reward (other than the creators and a few lottery winners)...anyone got any better suggestions than this coin?
