why is it for the darknet? Doesn't seem to be that anonymous by design, and I've never seen it used either. It's usually bitcoin, monero and dash that are used, the last two being pretty good for anonymity.

Wow, this is an old crypto from 2013. Strange, that I never heard about it. I see its not very popular price wise also. What's the main use of this crypto?

- fastest transactions time ( new consensus algorithm, next generation, competing with IOTA, etc, not PoW/PoS)

- +300 transactions/second while Bitcoin can only do 6 and Ethereum can only do 30.
- Transactions in second instead of hours/minutes (like Bitcoin/Ethereum).
- eliminates 51% attack with new consensus algorithms (So exchanges cannot lose coins from double spending). A revolution in blockchain consensus.
- Competitor to Ethereum for launching tokens, Skyledger. Each coin gets their own complete, independent blockchain, no 51% attacks and transactions a hundred times faster than Ethereum.

Is this still being actively developed? I would be interested in understanding how this works with POS/POW? Are there still known attack vectors that could undermine security of the network? Maybe you already had a discussion about it but I didn't want to look through the whole thread.

Yes, there are tons of things going on. ICOs are being built upon the Skyledger, miner in the works, hardware wallet in the works, etc...

It's really an amazing project. One of the few that tries to solve Bitcoin problems.
Besides I like to invest in platforms, which offer all-in-one thing: Ethereum, NEM, Waves, NEO, etc.

Skycoin will be of the same level, no less. It's just a matter of time when it hits bigger exchanges and developers release SkyWire hardware.
