Talking of Germany, I'm still quite interested in the mysterious John Carley, the BT brains, who was going to be at the Bonn Bitcoin Forum on the 1st of this month. Did anyone go?
Way back in April in this thread, there was a poster called icecreamgenius who had $$$ in BT and he was going to take a photo of Mr. Carley in Bonn. Did it happen?
The thing with anonymity for security I understand, but to give a name out immediately negates that and that's what BT have done with this 'John Carley' persona, the problem being is that he has no substance. He has "been involved in Bitcoin since day one", according to press releases, lives in Spain, bit of a mover and shaker by implication, but has no Internet presence whatsoever. Anyone ever heard of him in any context whatsoever? Bitcoinland isn't that big.
I don't know about BT being UK based, there's a strong South African presence, "Tradertom" Opperman is, so is his sidekick Jonathan Moloney and Brandenburg (if he exists) has a SA link on his FaceBook page.
Anyway, they are busy firefighting on FB, calling their clients trolls and liking each others posts, as they rush to discredit the off message Herr Baumann.
I would like BT to be real, but......

Things are getting a little twitchy on the FB page.
Investors are not happy with the deafening silence regarding the audit report and then, apparently on the German page here, the Bitcoin Trader representative Sven Baumann replied as follows to a prospective investor:

"I do not know where the company is based nor who is running BT. BT is a HYIP and the returns should make this obvious. HYIPs and Ponzis do not have a business model and take the payments of newer members to pay out the older ones. If you are investing in a HYIP you should always consider a total loss. If the HYIP runs long enough and you make profit - good for you, but always expect the worst - this is how I deal with it."

According to Tradertom Opperman, the messenger is being shot.

"Sven Baumann will be removed from the Rep contact list asap. Thank you againArmin"

Gameover people. Y'all can stop saying this is an actuall business now that even someone paid by this "company" is admiting it.

This person can't have any more certain an idea about whether or not they are actually trading than anyone else, us included, except whoever is on the inside of the operation. So this statement actually adds nothing to the debate whatsoever.
Having said that - if someone was capable of making these returns, consistently, I can't see that they have anything to gain with the secrecy. Surely you would want to shout about it as loudly as possible - show videos of the traders working, in real-time - to draw in the investors?

Reps are just ordinary people hoping to get more profit for more referals, i'm not surprized of the news...

There is something more mentioned in fb conversation with me,

Michael Brandenburg said : "We had 'panic' on the forums since day one and I am confident that will continue in the future, even if PricewaterhouseCoopers or Deloitte are auditing us on a monthly base, both and independently. We can't fight trolls and naysayers - nobody can!"

So i'm quite excited if two respectable companies are auditing them, if i see nothing suspicious or sneaky in upcoming audit docs/results i'll consider it legal and start reinvesting, Thats enough proof for me, also I belieave if they were scam they wont bother that much of doing this and that... They've could gone out of the game way before... And start another game...

I think the comment "PricewaterhouseCoopers or Deloitte are auditing us on a monthly base, both and independently" is just more of Brandenburg's heavy handed sarcasm, not actually likely to happen.
This type of reaction from him is counter productive for BT imo, rubbishing or misrepresenting genuine concerns is the sort of thing that scammers do, not honest people.
I have some money looking for a return too and it's a testament to BT (and my greed) that I'm even considering something that returns Ponzi numbers, but not until an audit that proves they are actually trading and/or some transparency about who Carley is.
