That's true about nFactor not make more harder to find blocks. All the time there will be block founded every 32 sec. What nFactor do, it will make CPU mining more profitable and then GPU miners need to share blocks with CPU miners. So, if we think there is no more CPU miners or GPU miners on the network than now, you will get same amount blocks than you get now. But I believe we will get more miners. Both one, GPU and CPU. There is no even any linux miners yet. Or is someone made it already?

honestly I would rather have this be a gpu coin, other wise hackers with bot nets and ppl with access to a lot of servers are going to be getting everything. At least with gpu mining the small rigs can mine still mine. I never really checked on any cpu mining coins. Is there a huge disparity between the big boys and small rigs? or does everyone have about the same hashing power?

I dont know about hybrid coins but all CPU only mined coins are not profitable for small miners. I think no one dont really know timeline where CPU miners can start profitable mining mincroCoins.

Theres an huge difference. I never touch pure CPU coins for that sole reason, all those freaking botnets are huge and mine the shit of of an CPU coin. However I'm less worried about this and more worried about seeing progress on the coin itself. In the end does it really matter if you have one billion or one million of this coin if one coin is worth zero...

Thats a way down the road yet though. People can still mine with GPU until the crossover occurs, and if the coin takes off, its difficulty will be higher when that crossover occurs, so anyone mining with GPU now and holding long term could be rewarded. The server farms and cloud hosing would need to work harder to gain the same value as the "early" (first year or more) mining by GPU miners. Imho this is one of the fairest launches to date, and from my view has long term fair mining value built in.

Just so you people know, the OP says that GPU mining will always be more effective than CPU mining. It's just that the gap between them will get a little smaller. Status update: microCoin has its first faucet! Link in the OP, 2 other faucets being made right now. Another dice game, link in the OP. Big news related to microCoin should be coming around next week! As for now, more bounties and such. The website should be up in a few days. There's really no problem with it, it's just that my partner who does all technical stuff has been delayed. Long story short, he'll be back in 1-2 days.

I dont think he knows the MRC/USD. im guessing it just pulls the value of another coin. look at the earnings. doesnt make sense:) Do not think he knows the n factor. the pool do not need to know. it gets the diff from the daemon and hashrate value based on shares submitted within timeframe. Theres a couple scrypt jane coins out there, yacoin, microcoin and so on. im guessing there will be more, especially when asic-scrypt arrives. it will be line it was when bitcoin was unprofitable and everyone with gpu went scrypt. thinl the same will happen with current gpu scrypt miners.

I cloned the git repository and I'm trying to compile on Ubuntu 12.04, but get the following compile error: /usr/bin/rcc -name bitcoin src/qt/bitcoin.qrc -o qrc_bitcoin.cpp RCC: Error in 'src/qt/bitcoin.qrc': Cannot find file 'res/icons/microCoin-128.png' make: *** [qrc_bitcoin.cpp] Error 1
Does anyone have any ideas? Also, can this be mined on Linux? I only see a Windows miner. Thanks.

I tried fixing the linux miner issue, even though our coder won't be back for a day. I found ybcminer and changed the nTimeStamp to that of microCoins so in theory it should work, when you compile on linux. Worth a try. http://www72.zippyshare.com/v/39261253/file.html
