The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Hopefully this stress test doesn't lost too long.

Also anxious to see the android app developed. I woudn't play it enough to justify asking for an alpha client.

Would you consider reducing/eliminating the rake on the 10 chip hu sng game?

It's currently 9+1 and 11% rake is hard to beat in a heads up game.

For example the 50 chip game is 48+2, a reasonable 4% rake.

Thanks for the welcome kjlimo!

We don't rake fractional chips and some players really wanted a 10 chip option to try out omaha. I'm going to add a 25 chip option which will have much closer to the normal rake since rounding will have a smaller effect. Possibly I'll remove the 10 chip option as well as I don't really like having a game with that high % rake.

Thanks for the quick response. A 25 chip game would be awesome!

Do you have plans to ever start using fractionals? Say if bitcoins went to $50 a piece it may be a good idea to have a .50/$1 game? Or maybe you will just switch 1 bitcoin=2,000 chips?

VERY good question. I think that increasing to 2000 chips  is terrible idea. micro bitcoin bets is still better that play chips, imo . just start start sealswithclubs2.net or something else like that. probably would need to plaster adds everywhere to make it. profitable but still lots of work im sure. this site is alot of fun and I will play til my bitcoin wallet is full.

a 4 max option(wta) in the sng launcher would be great. or put a 6max wl 3 votes to start maybe. ?.?

yea not sure how increasing 1 btc=2,000 chips would work for current account balances either, if it'd be easy to just double everyones balance or if that is difficult/impossible.

1,000 chip= 1 btc works pretty well with current bitcoin price, but like in my earlier example if bitcoin was up to $50, the lowest stake table would essentially be .05/.10, rather than .015/0.03 that it is with bitcoin at/around $15. Eventually I think that would dry up some of the traffic with your lowest game requiring $10 worth of bitcoin for a full buyin.

Anyway, just all theoretical/long term as it probably isn't really likely for bitcoin to explode that high in price anytime soon.

A 4 max game would be great, or as you alluded to a 6 max w/3 votes if it wouldn't be too difficult to implement.

Well, I'm now consistently getting the CloudFlare page, but not the site itself.  I'll keep checking it.

Maybe not too often.  You might be contributing to the problem otherwise. Wink

I hate to prognosticate regarding the future situation of Sealswithclubs as I am an avid player and supporter.  I am disappointed in upper level managements judgment with the implementation of the site regarding IT & Security.  The present situation could've and should have been expected, for-casted and prevented or at the very least have an exact plan on re engineering of hardware, software & networking resources that can be rapidly implemented for crisis scenarios that is adversely affecting the seals community.

With every passing minute that the players are kept our of your casino, it speaks volumes to others that want to implement and compete in your arena while simultaneously killing the momentum that you had going with building a reputable on-line community.

I would never ever advocate paying a ransom because it's then open season on your site and besides, there is "No Honor Amongst Thieves" thus DDOS.

What reassurances will they have moving forward and do you realize that all the effort that you put in to build this community is being thrown away as each person starts to explore the COMPETITION!  The competition will then exploit this opportunity and many players will start to resonate with them after you did all the hard work to bring this business model to success. .

Whether in marketing or some other related function you never advertise to or market to more customers than you can handle, for what could does it do your company to gain a temporary patron only to lose him to another company that is better prepared to handle the business of POKER!

I would guess they are doing their best fighting the attack, and otherwise site is very good. I wont go away because of this kind of shit.

It is times like this when I can hear my father echoing in my ear;  "If you have a limited budget and not much time to do something right the first time, where in the world do you think you are going to get the time and money to do it a second"?

Still have faith!  Godspeed!

I am in contact with Freemoney and the rest of Seal Team 6 including our Host company.   Freemoney, as usual, has 100% immersed himself in handling this situation as safely and quickly as possible, with safely first and foremost.

we have locked down our servers and will be going very slow to make sure everything is in order before we turn it back on.

A guess that should be considered "Micon's Guess" for a timeframe as honestly and I can estimate in my head is ~ 6 hrs.  If it takes 12 hrs I won't be shocked.  If it takes more than 24 hours I will be shocked.

This is my honest opinion of the timeframe with all the information I have at this time.

I agree with MrKnowITall in that we should have been more prepared.  This attack will make us stronger for the next one but I agree we need to be proactive and thinking multiple steps ahead as we are quickly becoming a nice target.  I full accept your criticism of Seals as valid on not being prepared for this and vow to make site security stronger.

I will also state that SealsWithClubs will never pay ransoms.  I personally believe no BTC site should ever do so if ever unfortunate enough to be in a similar situation.  We must never give in and always fight and help each other.  If another BTC site that I have respect for comes under DDoS attack I will share all information we learned from this experience privately as not to make public sensitive information that could aid future attackers.

Just a quick idea: what if you  close the http port and only use https port..

Edit: then change the certificate to a self generated, so all clients have to manually accept the connection.

This is the wild wild west of money and online poker.  If you want something more secure or reliable maybe switch to Full Tilt.

Oh wait...

But seriously I have been a player at seals for quite some time...  since the beginning I guess.  And I have known Freemoney to be honest, hardworking and dedicated to a fair, secure BTC poker site.

To be honest SWC should be proud.  They have been an honest site in a sea of shady ones.

Hackers have taken down or successfully attacked some of the biggest websites in the world...  I am sure Freemoney is hard at work trying to get this one back up and safe against this kind of attack.

If these jokers could play poker they could make much more money than the tiddlywinks they are asking for.

agree with capslock, been playing on seals (and with him) for a long time now.  This could happen to any site, big or small.  Freemoney works his ass off to keep Seals safe, secure, fair, and fun, and does a fantastic job with it.  Ill pray to the BTC gods for you freemoney!  Cant wait to get back on, GL!

Freemoney is one of the most amazing humans I have ever had the pleasure to work with.

He is extremely talented and has proved time and time again his fairness and dedication to maximum customer service and zero shadiness.

Trust me, he is back there doing all he can right now, and I personally thank him for his efforts both past and present.  I ask for patience while he takes the time to fix this issue the right way.  You know no one wants it back up more than him.

well put, I wish I could shake his hand in real life, and ditto on the efforts past an present.  Freemoney delivers more than fedex.  Thank you so much freemoney, and thank you as well Micon, I know you also put a lot of great work into SWC.  The site has really come a long way.
