What happened to the bitcrush pool? I still had ~100 VRT on there It seems the pool really crushed My VRTs also stuck there. This sucks. Does anyone know who the bitcrush admin is?

Ok, so I got soloing finally set up on both my rigs. What a pain in the ass I'm running 280x's and get about 260kh. Someone said they had a 290 and got 400 ? So that seems about right. But my question is It says connected to 127.0.0.1 without LP as user blahblah. What does without LP mean? Does it sound like it got it setup right? Now hardware errors.

No problem saying without long-poll, that's normal for solomining, but I think you'll be hard pushed to mine much solo now. If you're getting hardware errors though, your thread-concurrency is probably too high. I am at 24550 on R9 290s, Bufius said 256n works well so you could try starting at something low like 8192 and working your way up, if 16386 works, start going up in smaller chunks. I also find I can't run such high core/mem clocks on this coin, maybe the algorythm is harder on the GPUs, but I have to drop down a little.

LP = Long Poll For mining solo this is OK. Check cgminer (first press "d" for Display, then "v" for verbose, then return/enter). Now you should see messages like "Share above target" -> you are ming solo and everything works like expected. If you see something like "found Block for Pool!" -> congratulations, you've found a Block But i would prefer to mine into a Pool, the income is more steady. But of course, at the current diff with a 280x, solo is also getting good results. But 290kh for a 280x is too less, it should be ~350kh (i get ~300kh per 7950 @1000/1500). Have you mined scrypt before? If yes, try to use the same settings, just lower TC.

Yeah I agree - 290kh sounded kind of low to me too. Memclock is the key, and core makes a big difference on the R9 series too.

Bufius are you aware if the cpu cgminer gives better performance than wallet mining? Just an academic question really at this difficulty, but interested to know

Why I've got only 7 Khash (!) on 7850 card? I thought it wasn\t that bad...

At present the CPU miner give perhaps a tiny bit better performance (say 5%) than the wallet but it does of course let you pool. GPU mining is going great though and with the launch on exchange this evening it's a good time to start mining!

You should be seeing maybe 200KH/s or maybe 175 if this is a desktop and you're using lower intensity to keep using the PC while you mine - post your settings and we'll help you tune it correctly.

CPU: i2600@3.8Ghz, all cores used. test for ~5 minutes each mining with wallet: ~2500 hashspersec mining with cpu cgiminer: ~4.5kh = 4500 hashpersec -> yes, the cpu cgminer seems to perform better AND: with the wallet mining and all cores used, desktop is very laggy. With CPU cgminer everything is smooth (or at least only a small / not noticeable lag)

OK, I know that lookup gaps !=2 reduce performance. Try removing lookup gap and running with everything else the same - what are your results then?

I think this is a driver issue. But this occurs also with the original cgminer and scrypt. Only reboot helps if this occurs.

im sorry to anyone who has lost coins may i suggest you use autopayment set to lowest possible from now on it doesnt 100% stop pools from robbing or if they crash losing your coins but it will cause it to be less brutal if it does happen also if you havent checked us out IRC FREENODE #vertcoin stop in and say Hi if you dont have irc or are not sure what it is https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net . this client will connect you to the service just put vertcoin in channel name </blog>

Yes, this is too high TC - you'll have to try 4096 I think. How much RAM does the machine have? Once cgminer is running, it doesn't use much system RAM at all, but on startup it does use a lot for a few seconds as it preps the data to send to the GPUs VRAM, and high TC won't run if system RAM is too small.
