Yes, this is too high TC - you'll have to try 4096 I think. How much RAM does the machine have? Once cgminer is running, it doesn't use much system RAM at all, but on startup it does use a lot for a few seconds as it preps the data to send to the GPUs VRAM, and high TC won't run if system RAM is too small.

this should go to Con Kolivas, he has written the original cgminer. I have only done some small changes for vertcoin (until now...) |

You can also expect about 50% of your normal hashrate due to the different algorythm in vertcoin. Post your current settings (or command line switches) and we'll try to help. |

http://vertcoin.com/ has a list of pools but please do follow the advice there and pick the smallest pool at the time you sign up. This ensures the network stays secure. |

My 290 isnt running this :s it just insta disables the gpu in cgminer
