Hey all,

Quick question. I just started mining this, am I correct in assuming my hash rate on my GPU will be approximately 1/2 of what it is on regular coins? Or is it possible to tweak it more to get more out of it?

Nice, I have 3 280x's as well. I squeeze about 750, very stable out of them. What's your config to get 770 and how are the rejects?

Interesting, i've been runing stock CGMiner 3.7.2, cards are undervolted... so i might track down that modded CL file and give it a shot...

just don't understand how we can compile this mod cgminer on Linux...

./configure ->
curses.TUI...........: NOT FOUND. TUI support DISABLED
OpenCL...............: Detection overrided. GPU mining support DISABLED

Glad to hear you found the working binary. However, to compile for linux you need the AMD SDK and ADL SDK, the ./configure with --enable-scrypt and make.

URGENT:

0daycoins are closing for good in about 7 hours.

All pending withdrawals have been cancelled, and now no email confirmation is required. You just log out and back in, then you can withdraw and it is immediate - I got my funds no problem.

You _must_ log out and back in - otherwise, the withdrawals still show as pending. Once you've logged out->in, they show as available funds and you can do an immediate withdrawal with no email confirmation required.

Make sure you get in in-time, they are closing for good in 7 hours and your funds will be lost.

Lots more pools now:

    VTC.POOL.PM - Hashrate: 3.289 Mhash/s - Workers: 9
    LA.VERTCOIN.ORG - Hashrate: 3 Khash/s - Workers: 0
    HK.VERTCO.IN - Hashrate: 748 Khash/s - Workers: 3
    EU.VERTCOIN.ORG - Hashrate: 5.982 Mhash/s - Workers: 41
    NY.VERTCO.IN - Hashrate: 15.164 Mhash/s - Workers: 25
    VERT.BITCRUSH.INFO - Hashrate: 43.693 Mhash/s - Workers: 74

Please can some people move from Bitcrush, and all new users mining Vertcoin please join one of the other pools and prioritise it in your config so you are mining on the smaller pools.

At present, the smallest pools are:

hk.vertco.in
la.vertcoin.org
vtc.pool.pm

So please join them.

Yes, due to the double rounds you'll see about half your normal scrypt hashrate at best.

The cgminer from the OP is a real piece of crap.

It runs very slowly on my R9 270X (2-3 KH/s), does not run at all on the R9 290.

On other, older cards it runs, but with low hash and stressing the cards much more than scrypt.
Scrypt-Jane seems to be the far better algo here.

It runs fine, you just need to look at your settings, they'll be different than usual, especially you will need no more than about 80% of your usual thread concurrency - my own R9 290 config is at: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=416572.new#new and gives me 400KH/s per card which is optimal on this coin.

I've PM'd binaryclock (the owner of the Dedicated Pools servers). Everyone should PM him to see if he'd be willing to add a VERT server. They end up being very stable and popular.

List of pools at vertcoin.com - please select the smallest one. NOT bitcrush at the moment - they have a lot of the net hashrate. eu.vertcoin.org is working fine for me for example.

If you're getting valid work from pool.pm, it's possible the cronjobs that update the found blocks have failed - you may be getting paid anyway once the admin restarts the cronjobs, but I can't say for sure - I don't know who the admin is.
