the official cudaminer github repo now also has the fix for VertCoin

use --algo=scrypt:2048 or --algo=scrypt:4096 depending on what's the current N value.
you have to manually set N, there is no automatic computation based on timestamp yet

OP UPDATED WITH NEW WALLET BUILD

Please can everyone update their wallet using either the links in the OP, or at http://www.vertcoin.org to help out with making sure new users wallets can sync quickly, and smooth the process as the VTC network grows.

200 VTC per day per normal-scrypt equivalent MH/s @ 0.00016 BTC = 0.032 BTC / day / MH/s

No wonder the hasrate is going crazy. This is what, twice as profitable as DOGE today?

If the retarget is 3.5 days what happens when miners crash down on the coin with massive hash?

Did you see what happened to CAT? It's retarget was like 1 day or less and they had to hard fork
because when the dif skyrocketed everyone left and it was taking 3 days to do a transaction.

Tell me I am missing something.

Right now, it's multi-pool resistant because of the need for a special version of the mining software, so the giant spikes in hashrate that CAT had are less likely to happen.

Also not enough market depth to absorb 1Gh+ of mine+dump.

Some of the big miners may switch over, but given the different mining client, reduced hashrate, and currently small market on CoinedUp, I dont really see a lot doing it.

Not prefect and not guaranteed, but combined with not being ASIC friendly due to the memory requirement, its enough to make it different than the current crop of copypasta Scrypt coins.

Unless someone merges vertminer with normal cgminer (which is of course possible, but very unlikely to happen in mainline cgminer since he's totally dropped gpus since 3.7.2), VTC is multipool resistant, which should alleviate this risk.

An option is to fork to SSDRS (Kimotos gravity well) I guess. We'll see - other coins with long diff adjustments have done very well once they got a secure network with decent hashrate, which this one is well on its way to already.

'result does not validate on CPU (i=719, s=1)!'

Thanks in advance

Please see: https://github.com/vertcoin/vertcoin/blob/master-0.8/src/main.cpp#L1069

P.S. I've spent some time porting these changes to cudaminer but hashes fail to validate like 75% of the time, for some unknown reason (I did change computegold). I'll have a look at your version! Smiley

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet, but we have a brilliant new IRC bot thanks to Tom. Come join us in #vertcoin on freenode, and type !help to see the bot commands you can use to get prices, market cap, total vertcoins mined and more.
