Good question! I see we have an administrator on it called Jared, can we confirm that is our Jared, please? Yes, it is I've talked about the board with Jared and we both thought it was a good idea to create a separate board. My opinion: the team doesn't have lots of time to spit out all messages in this thread. Most of it is about the price and not about the project. On the DigiByte forum we can open topics as much we like, so we split the subjects a bit. Makes it easier for all of us and the team to respond. Also, check the tweet from the official DigiByte account -> https://twitter.com/DigiByteCoin/status/588686817097953280 .

Interesting that the market hasn't reacted with the hard fork announcement Maybe they waiting till job is done good point Imagen they use a smart marketing strategy for launch I think I prefer a forum like hashtalk.org more than digibyteforum.com. It is way more interactive... I suggest we go for something like that... Otherwise, there is no meaning to move to a forum like that.. It is just the same as here and here is more stuff... Not encouraging to go there... Thanks for the effort though. I see every reason to move from bitcointalk to digibytetalk, where we can be a creative force and leave this thread for announcements, it's original purpose. It's not like we can't tell people where to find us. digibytetalk is offline isnt it? doesn't seem to load anymore & ppl never really posted there in the past

to be honest I did not know there really was a digibytetalk! I was using the name to talk about the new digibyte forum.

moving all conversation and updates to a dedicated forum will deny the coin a lot of free attention from this forum.
I hold a fair amount of dgb and this is the only forum I check daily for updates.
The more people comment on this thread the more it appears at the top of the alt ann subforum and I am pretty sure a lot of people check this thread because of that.
What you will end up with is a forum full of dedicated people and no passers by.
I would recommend keeping the talk on here going and cross posting any major updates both here and on the dedicated forums.
Do you have anyone managing your social properly? I do this for a living if you need any help.
I agree. Make sure you keep posting here as well . . . even if it's double posting. The exposure we get here is priceless. And I sign off with that, yet another, tongue-in-cheek slogan reference.

There are so many different posts and ideas it's too difficult which to choose to quote ... so, this is more of a general response. I completely (like 100% completely) understand the arguments that this bitcointalk forum is a significant and important aspect of the current marketing and spreading the word about DGB. One of the dangers of online communities is that they become isolated echo chambers. They isolate ideas rather than connect and spread them. It's relevant for DGB - and good for DGB - that we have one of the best and most prodigious altcoin forums in bticointalk. And, the previous comments are right on track ... that having a great forum here on bitcointalk helps DGB by encouraging like-minded people to get involved. Also - less important - but also - there's a time factor. I'm busy. I'm sure you're busy too. More forums and discussions means more time. However, I also think there's a place and reason for both. Having the primary DGB forum be here on bitcointalk reinforces the idea that DGB is subordinate to BTC. In reality, at the present moment, that's true. DGB is currently subordinate to BTC. BTC had a head start ... so we don't yet have as big a community, or as many merchants, companies, etc.. I believe that someday we will ... and even more, I believe that DGB has the potential to emerge as a true alternative to BTC ... not just as a subordinate. In order for us to achieve the goal of developing DGB into a true alternative to BTC, we need to start building the infrastructure to be independent - and, a dedicated forum is part of that necessary infrastructure. It's not the only part - but it is part of that effort. I know that HR has done - and I'm sure will continue to do - great work towards providing support discussions in http://asistec-ti.com ... maybe some of those will eventually get cross posted, linked, etc., as they are here. There are also other possibilities and benefits in the dedicated forum ... things that haven't yet been considered, like an informal marketplace for trading, or selling goods within the community. There are just so many possibilities. My only real criticism is that I'm not a huge fan of "simple-machines" forums. There are better, more interactive, and interesting forum templates. But, beggars can't be choosers. Because I have neither the time or the expertise to develop an administer a forum, I'm on board with whatever.

Totally agree and hope HR will continue being our tech guru and providing a place for real technical discussion whilst integrating what us mere mortals need to know and understand into the other forums, which quite frankly will include subject matter he simply wouldn't be interested in, like what the market is doing today!

Finally got my internet back! While I was stuck on a lousy 3g connection I started work on a new website that queries live digibyte nodes and then plots them out on a google map. Still have some work to do on the backend but its starting to come together.
