So tired of the same things over and over. Short term PoS sucks compared to other coins, yes. Long term is ok. Coin reward is 50 and not 10, yes. If you all don't like it, create your own alt-coins. Utc is not broke, so don't fix it. You all got onboard knowing what UTC consisted of, and if you didn't know, shame for not doing your research. Moving forward...

We have an online store now, that's what makes a coin useful, not changing its heart and soul.

Good morning everyone!  Grin Grin Tis a beautiful day outside. Maybe get some sun and make that Vitamin D.

I believe the PoS part of this coin is a joke, you have to leave the coins in your wallet for 1 year to get pay?, maybe developers should change that to 1 week or 1 day, that will make the coin more interesting  Wink

Very much agree with your idea
Time may be a bit too long

Yes, the PoS issue has surfaced time and time again already.

Personally I would consider a good time would be 1 to 3 months possibly.

I agree, or do away with it entirely. I still would like to know where the POS coins come from - transaction fees? (excuse my cluelessness about this - I just can't picture the whole process well enough to understand it).

PoS is meant for long term, so it shouldn't be removed. it takes coins off the market and reduces available supply to eat up those 50 per block.... PoS coins are created in same fashion as mining, in a block. minting uses your staked coins and becomes your 'hashrate' to 'mine' blocks. Same block, different method. These kinds of questions should be answered in an FAQ on the UTC site, BC site answered all of my UTC PoS questions. Maybe XWeb could take a gander? Second time I've suggested an FAQ.

One more thing, minting is not guaranteed payout. its still a lottery. So you have to leave your coins in for a year and then you get a chance to mint for every block created, at 20% compounded. So more UTC kept in wallet is more lottery tickets.

To learn even more, grab 100 BC and throw them in the BC wallet and watch the little green or grey icon in the lower right. Learn from doing. Please don't delete this post, I wouldn't have to send ppl to BC if UTC explained PoS better. UTC is awesome for having 20%. BC is only 1%. UTC needs to create the PoS feature like BC wallet has so people can watch their staking grow, creates a hype.

However, it's sunny here in Ohio, but cold and snow still covers everything. We do not get warm weather till sometime the end of next month, can not wait to go out to the lake and have some of that vitamin D myself, we do have nice Summers. If UTC is where I think it will be this Summer, I might make a trip to California and visit Biodragon there, I hear the weather is great in Cali. I might even be able to buy a nice convertible to drive down there with our UTC's  Grin

We invite people leaving nitro to join us at: http://thepool.pw/ultracoin/

50% of pool fees will be paid back to help community ongoing or new projects on a weekly basis.

Second week 50% pool fees and donations (11 UTC) sent to UTC charts site.

Also, we will stop this promotion and look into something more miner centered for now, as it did not get many interest from the community.

Hey - thanks for the donation! Some other things are in development right now - most importantly wallets for both andoid and ios, keep that developer in mind if you're giving away more.

And I'm working on something else that may be ready this weekend, if I can get it to work. Stay tuned!

Any ideas for this trouble ?
Sapphire 280x Vapor-x (Elpida Memory) 3GB, undervolted to 1.087, hashrate only avg. 70 khash/s

<snip>

I tried change TC, lookup-gap,gpu-threads, nothing helped.
If i add + 4GB ram, will be Ok ? Can anybody confirmed that solution work... I tried change virtual memory to 16384 = same hashrate.
If i change intensity up +13, hashrate changed to 135-140 but with many HW errors.

I didnt find working configuration with combination:

 gpu-thread 1 + intensity 16 + thread concurrency 24000 (+/-)

IMHO will be ok, but i didnt find optimal TC...
Thanks for any ideas. Sry for a terrible english

Virtual memory is enough and you have plenty now. My 4GB machine only has 8192 set for VM.

This is what I use to get 135KH/s on my 4 x 280x rig. (PC has 4GB RAM + 8192 Virtual memory running Windows 7 x64, Catalyst 13.1)

Quote
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

del *.bin

C:\mining\cgminer-sj\cgminer.exe --scrypt-jane -o <pool> -u <user.worker> -p <password> -I 12 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 16384 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1025 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-vddc 1.055 --gpu-powertune 20 --gpu-fan 80 --temp-cutoff 85 --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 --no-submit-stale

You may need to use higher voltage than mine depending on the quality of the card.
I can run mine at 1200mhz if I use 1.100 volts. But I only get 145KH/s for it.

I tried change Voltage to default, same hashrate. I tried run only with 280x, same hashrate. I tried change position, same hashrate. I tried your config, same hashrate....

Any Idea ?

Try starting with YACMiner instead - it's designed to mine scrypt-chacha coins (aka scrypt jane)
git clone https://github.com/Thirtybird/YACMiner
then in that directory, run
./autogen.sh
make
strip yacminer

done.

@paulbendall @ultracoinnews We have heard the community (here & on email) & have added #UTC acceptance into our roadmap to roll out shortly!

Darn I need to setup a new Twitter account! Anyway it is more good news for UTC as http://pock.io is a good looking site and allows purchasing vouchers for Amazon UK, Google Play and a number of UK clothes and food retailers. If you are on Twitter please send thanks to @pockiouk and include the hashtag #UTC

It also shows the power of Twitter if we keep up our efforts
