You can see it on the order page, payment status.

However, due to private reasons I decided to close Bitmit. It it too much stress for me because it is a huge responsibility to keep such a site running and  growing user funds safe. The site will stay online for some more weeks to guarantee that all current orders can be completed. You can trust me because otherwise I would not have restored the backup for you.

I am sure there will be other sites who can do a better job for you.

Sad to see you close up shop - the community definitely needs something like this.

This is so only getting weirder!?!?

I hope this all turns out to be a hick-up in bitmit's continuity. Would be sad to bury it for good.

Make them an offer - I heard they were trying to sell bitmit last time. Not sure about now I guess.

Wait, so...

1) Bitmit decides to close down
2) Bitmit decides to sell
3) Bitmit decides to continue running as-is
4) Bitmit runs for months
5) Bitmit is discovered to have been sold
6) Bitmit decides to close down (again)
7) People now offering to buy Bitmit

WTF is going on, really?

good summary.

I would make an offer to buy it, but this is very shady.

My order has also vanished after I paid for it and it still isn't fixed.

I am so confused as to if it sold or if it changed owner?  Is it now selling again or never sold?

I'd also be interested in buying Bitmit, if the price is right. I'd probably also need a partner to run it.

Bitmit works pretty well and is an excellent source of income both for it's owners and it's users. What's missing is transparency and trust.

If Bitmit was once sold, why wasn't that announced? What is the name of the person or corporation currently owning and running Bitmit? That is the sort of questions people want answers to.

If someone who is prepared to be open about his identity and his plan for Bitmits future would take over Bitmit, I as a user would be very happy.

I think bitmit could host a new auction to sell itself (again).

Indeed, sell it on the auction! What's the point of just closing it?

i love bitmit! great site.

well, it might have been "sold" to some china company, just to walk around german imprint laws and the likes,
still TOSAKI is the man maintaining it, so the main guy is still running the baby although a china company officially runs it now.

no big deal, normal offshoring. don't shit your pants guys.

It's NOT the same guy, that's the point.
The person using the name "tosaki" on this forum isn't the same person it was some months ago.
He talked german very well before, but needs google-translate now to even understand anything german.
So i hardly doubt that the main guy is still running it and is just hosting somewhere else.

He (the new guy) even admits that the sale happened a couple of months ago, yet he wasn't even able to take a minute or two to tell anyone about it.

The funny part is, that just after we found out about the secret sale and even more strange, right after switching to a new server, he (the new guy) decides to shut bitmit down for good because of personal reasons.

It is exactly the old server, I only restored it. I already was the owner before the last Bitmit auction on Bitmit were published so dont worry but then decided to keep it. The time I took over Bitmit was time before..

To make such a decision based on one forum post would be very unprofessional, that is surely not the reason. I planned this already some time ago and when I am going to "close"->sell Bitmit to somebody who can run it more seriously it would be a benefit for all of us I think.

Selling it on a Bitmit auction is a quite good idea I consider.
