The big VTC Vertcoin settings thread

Having problems with modded cgminer... But everyone else seems fine.

Specs: XFX R9 280x getting 230Khs on Vertcoin. Normally gets 700khs on others, NOT EVEN 50%.
 I am using Windows 8

(Just FYI I'm not new to the mining scene)

I dont know if the cgminer was recently changed, but the -Intensity level CANNOT go above "-I 12" or the miner will go crazy with HW (hardware errors)

Everyones settings are with Intensities between 13-20 and saying they get 300Khs per card.....  YES, I can get 300khs per card if I chose intensity 13-20;HOWEVER , the amount of HW (hardware errors) IS CRAZY!!

Also the thread concurrencies straight up just DONT WORK! I have to choose a concurrency around or below 6,000 for it to work. If I choose a TC like 8193 it will start the miner and say GPU 0 FAILURE, DISABLING

Here are my cgminer settings:

I've messed around with the settings for a good 5hours... cant find any working method. So if youre going to tell me to remove or add something. Trust me I probably already did it.

I'm going to add some ram from my main computer to my mining rig see if more ram does anything... It shouldnt because its not utilizing any ram from what I can see

Are you sure you haven't tried my settings? I've been having the same problems. But when i lowered engine to 1000, memclock to 1490, powertune to -20 it could handle I13 and Still manage 355 kh/s

I'm gonna say it one more time.

If you mine with a 280x set your GPU_MAX_ALLOC to 200 instead of 100.

You'll do 350ish instead of 270-300.

Doesn't have to be that way mate, my 280x's are doing 355 with the settings i posted above.

That's the thing. i don't run windows rigs. i needed 200 on my linux rigs to get the normal kh/s (350-360)

Yes, the same issue. Can't get more than stable 230khs per core on 7990 on linux.

That's not the initial problem though. My problem is the Intensity and the TC.

The reason its failing is because the TC is too high. So I lower it to 6080 and it starts running. HOWEVER, then comes the problem with intesity levels. Anything above "I- 12" with gives me tons of HW

Also yes I agree there should be a difference from my card and your card, but my card is normally 700khs it should ATLEAST hit 300khs (not even 50% yet). 350Khs would be my 50% mark

I took your settings and lowered the TC to 6080. I am getting a solid 320Khs but the HW is going crazy

Should I just ignore the HW? I know I probably shouldnt but there's no way around this... If I lower the Intensity to 12 it works fine no HW, but gets 230Khs

hmm the HW actually have seem to gone down from what I was getting before. Im only at 90 HW after a few minutes and NO rejected shares. Is it worth ignoring guys? Or should I never let it have any HW?

Can't get a hashrate over 90 kh/s and WU: ~80/m without a massive number of HW
anything over intensity 10 only produces HW and anything over thread-concurrency: 1024 will give me error -61 and the miner won't start at all

Hi, I have Asus R9 280x Dc2t

Card is underclocked from 1070 to 970 and from 6400 memory to 6200 and iam having about 335Kh/s and no HW errors! With these settings:

I was getting HW errors all the time with anything i tried until i put max alloc to 200. Then HW stoped and everything works as supoused. It does sligthy above 50% of what i get in normal CGminer on other altcoin pools.

- VERY IMPORTANT (at least for r9 280x) as someone allready mentioned is setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 200 (hope you know where to copy/paste it)
- it is modified Cgminer, you are gona have 50% of normal Kh/s and it is supoused to be like that.
- my card is underclocked to drain less power, with higher settings you are gona get higher hash rating.

not for me, hashrate shown is ~200 kh/s with those flags and default settings in afterburner, but all I'm getting is a rapidly increasing number of HW and no accepted shares. Also overclocking this just got me a bluescreen
